After his blockbuster announcement of being a guest star on the new season of DC's hit TV show Arrow, Cody Rhodes has surprised his fans once again but this time with an announcement of his future wrestling adventure.
As seen in the tweet below, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes announced that he will be fighting the former WWE Champion Kurt Angle in an upcoming independent wrestling event.

Rhodes will be a part of an independent wrestling event held by WCPW on October 8th at the Silver Blades Arena in Altrincham, England. Although this won’t be the first time these WWE veterans will wrestle each other as they are scheduled to have a match at a ‘Wrestling Under The Stars’ event later this month. Wrestling Kurt Angle is a dream match for many and by the looks of it Cody has struck gold with this.
We noted before that Cody has been a hot free agent ever since he left WWE due to a lack of meaningful angle. He has been booked by several high profile independent wrestling promotions such as EVOLVE and WCPW since his release and is only expected to get busier on his schedule as a free agent.
It's notable here that Cody Rhodes ended his 9 years long run with WWE back in May this year when he asked and was granted his release from the company.
