Dean Ambrose nursing an injury, update on his future

Ambrose sustained a wrist injury

It was reported last month that WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose was slightly banged up and nursing a wrist injury.

Latest updates on the same point out to the injury not being a serious one, and that the Lunatic Fringe would continue working in spite of the injury. Dean Ambrose is no stranger to the current scenario, as he is accustomed to working matches in spite of being banged up right from his Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) days.

Dean Ambrose is in the early stages of his first Intercontinental title reign and any injury scare would surely give WWE the jitters – which, thankfully is not the case. WWE and Ambrose would surely be putting in extra care to avoid the aggravation of the injury.

Dean Ambrose would certainly put his title on the line at Royal Rumble, but who he defends against is still not known. From the looks of it, Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler could be involved in a triple threat match for the title.

Even though WWE went ahead with the match on its Super Smackdown edition a few weeks back – the company wouldn’t refrain from booking it again – considering they haven’t built up anything noteworthy other than that.

Dean Ambrose’ IC title reign could very well be the start of the long-lasting resurgence of the prestigious title, and WWE cannot afford to screw it up by booking it haphazardly.
