We caught up with The New Day for a chat

The New Day is in India in the midst of what is being described as KofiMania by the WWE Universe. Little did anyone suspect that when he replaced Mustafa Ali inside the Elimination Chamber, Kofi Kingston would become the crowd favourite.

The New Day has arrived in Mumbai as part of the first-ever India tryouts, where a handful of Indian talent will get to follow their dreams and become WWE superstars. I had a chance to catch up with the trio and discuss a wide variety of subjects with them. Needless to say, the interview was absolutely outrageous.

I know you guys have been busy with a whole lot of stuff, and so you probably missed the hottest thing on the internet. Did you catch Randy Orton twerking?

Big E: We did not miss that. That's can't miss.

Kingston: He's got a great set of hips on him.

Big E: He's twerked with us in the ring before. He did just a second of it. But now we got to see almost a minute of him doing his thing.

Woods: He does the elbow to knee thing (imitates it). (Everyone laughs)

Big E: I was impressed with him. Totally impressed.

Do you have a prediction for Kevin Owens vs. Daniel Bryan?

Kingston: I know it's going to be a heck of a match. You have two guys who are very good, who have been doing this for a very long time. There was a time in WWE when you never thought you'd see Kevin Owens or Daniel Bryan in the ring.

And now we're talking about the two of them at Fastlane. I think it's going to be a very exciting match. I don't know. It could go either way. I don't really have a prediction.

Big E: That's a diplomatic answer. I was going to say I don't care. I hope they beat the living heck out of each other.

Woods: Pick the bones!

Big E: Because Kofi is going to get his opportunity at WrestleMania. That is the point. These are the people who are pawns. These are the people who are interchangeable faces. Of course, they are tremendous talents. Daniel Bryan is arguably the greatest in-ring technician of all time.

But it's not about Daniel Bryan. It's not about Kevin Owens. It's about Kofi. Eleven years of being in this company and never getting the opportunity. It's about him fulfilling his promise. Him cashing in on all the hard work, all he's brought to this company, doing the right thing for eleven years and not being rewarded.

That's what it is about. So, I wish them well. I wish they have a heck of a match. But honestly, it doesn't matter.

Let's assume that the WrestleMania scenario happens and Kofi does become WWE Champion, do all three of you become the WWE Champion then?

Big E: Good question.

Woods: These are things you have to find out on the night of. Let's get there first!

The last time you were in India was right after the Hardyz returned at WrestleMania 33. A lot of people have wanted a match between The New Day and The Hardyz. Do you think this could happen down the road?

Woods: We're in that group of a lot of people. We brought the Hardyz back. We felt good about it. But we secretly just wanted to be in the ring wrestling against them. I mean if Kofi's got a match for the WWE Championship, that means that you and I (points at Big E) are free to do as we please.

Maybe we'll be in some sort of a Championship match. Maybe it'll involve the Hardyz.

Big E: Imagine at the end of the night, the three of us lined up. Titles risen in the air! All of us champions.

(All three guys raise imaginary championships in the air).

Is there anyone in NXT you want to face right now?

Big E: Undisputed ERA. It's very cool to see another faction. Those guys can be very viable in the Tag Team picture and the world title picture as well. I know we've shown that as of late, with Kofi being in the world title picture and us obviously holding the Tag Titles for a while.

So, I think factions are awesome. I love the Tag Team stuff. We've been doing that for so long. But factions just give you so many options. 6-mans and singles and tags. Those guys have a lot of steam right now. And they've been killing it for a while. So, at least for the last couple of years, that's what comes to mind.

Woods: Street Profits for me. They are entertaining and athletic. In that tag team position, it'll be a lot of fun.

Triple H just confirmed a Performance Center in India recently. You guys had a chance to meet the participants of the India tryouts. What are your thoughts on the emerging sports-entertainment scenario in India?

Woods: I think it's amazing that he'd let people know that a Performance Center is going to be here. The whole purpose of this is to have them all around the world wherever we have markets, wherever they love wrestling, they have a chance to have people from their own country come through and be a part of WWE.

Because it's always nice to have a sort of representation on screen. Someone who you know is where you're from. Who's gone through the kind of things that you've gone through. So, I think having them all over the place is going to be great.

Final question. Pancakes aren't a big thing in India. What will you replace them with?

Woods: Dosa.

Big E: Sometimes you want something not as dense as a pancake. Dosa goes down lighter. Last time Kofi and I were here, we had some garlic naan.

Kingston: Had some yesterday actually...

Big E: We're reminiscing.
