According to reports coming in from TMZ, Vince McMahon’ arrest on RAW led to many fans calling up the New York Police Department, enquiring about the boss.
One of the standout moments from this week’ RAW – Vince McMahon getting arrested in the opening segment highlighted Vince’ experience and pure genius as he was taken away by ‘Police authorities’ after his anger outburst.
The segment was so believable apparently, that some fans actually thought the angle was real. The NYPD was on the receiving end of a host of calls from concerned fans, who clearly misinterpreted kayfabe for reality.
When everyone thought Roman Reigns or Stephanie McMahon were going to be the ones who would be handcuffed and taken off the arena, the WWE Creative threw a curveball at the WWE Universe and went ahead with Vince’ arrest.
Having Vince on RAW these days is a rarity let alone seeing him get arrested, and that really made a handful of fans thinking that the entire thing happened in reality. Whoever said kayfabe is dead needs to rethink his statement because apparently, it still is alive.
Vince returned in the closing stages of RAW to announce a blockbuster main event for next week’ episode – that would see Roman Reigns defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Sheamus with Vince McMahon as the special guest referee.
