WWE Fastlane: 5 Potential finishes for Charlotte vs Ruby Riott

Who will come out on top on Sunday night?
Who will come out on top on Sunday night?

Ruby Riott will finally get a shot at the SmackDown Women's Championship on Sunday night since The Queen and the leader of The Riott Squad have been embroiled in a feud that has taken over the Women's Division ever since her debut on the Tuesday night brand back in November.

Ruby has managed to defeat two of Charlotte's closest friends in Noami and Becky Lynch, whilst Charlotte has already defeated two-thirds of The Riott Squad in Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. It all comes down to this match and since both bragging rights and the SmackDown Women's Championship will be on the line there are a number of possible outcomes.

#5. Ruby Riott becomes Women's Champion

Is it finally Ruby's chance to shine
Is it finally Ruby's chance to shine

The woman who was once known as Heidi Lovelace on the Independent Circuit has definitely taken the WWE world by storm and it seems that she has the backing of some higher-ups backstage otherwise she wouldn't be in a position like this less than five months after making her main roster debut.

With WrestleMania on the horizon, it is hard to see Riott being able to defeat Charlotte to become the new Women's Champion, but Charlotte has her rematch clause and could win the title back in the next month ahead of WrestleMania, so there is a chance that Ruby could steal one on Sunday night. Nothing in wrestling is ever a certainty.

#4. The Riott Squad Intereferes

It is perhaps worth pointing out that Charlotte's closest friends have been put in a tag team match on Sunday night, whilst the other members of the Riott Squad haven't actually been banned from ringside.

Will the duo be banned from ringside on the night or with the two former NXT stars help the leader of their squad to become Women's Champion by providing the much-needed back-up she requires to get past the genetically superior Champion? Having the duo at ringside will definitely balance the odds in Ruby's favor and if Charlotte is able to overcome that advantage, it would only make her look like a much stronger Champion.

#3. Charlotte retains

Let's be honest, can anyone see past Charlotte retaining her Championship against Ruby? The only way Ruby might have come out on top was if The Riott Squad helped her and gave her the distraction she would need to overcome The Queen.

Charlotte has been part of every WrestleMania for the past three years and it's highly unlikely that she will be left aside this year. It is hoped that this will be a fantastic match between the two women who have been put on a pedestal in the SmackDown Women's Division, but Charlotte will easily be the one that comes out on top.

#2. Asuka vs Charlotte is finally set up

Asuka could set up a match against Charlotte
Asuka could set up a match against Charlotte

Asuka has been rumored to be facing Charlotte at WrestleMania ever since she won the Royal Rumble match back in January. Asuka herself still hasn't confirmed that she will be facing the Raw Women's Champion at WrestleMania, which means that this would be her final opportunity to make a play for the SmackDown Women's Championship instead.

The perfect scenario would be for Charlotte to retain in her match against Ruby before she then cuts a promo about the lack of competition and then Asuka makes an appearance to challenge The Queen at WrestleMania. The Queen vs The Undefeated Empress would be the perfect WrestleMania match for SmackDown Live.

#1. Carmella cashes in

Could this be the best chance Carmella has to cash in?
Could this be the best chance Carmella has to cash in?

Carmella returned to TV this past week in a losing effort to Becky Lynch on SmackDown Live, where she showed off a new much feisty attitude. It seems that Carmella could be preparing herself to cash in her Money in the Bank contract since she has only got three months left before the next Money in the Bank event.

Carmella has been hiding in the background over the past few months, but it seems that this could be the perfect opportunity for her to cash in if Charlotte defeats Ruby and the Riott Squad then beat her down.
