The Greatest Royal Rumble was a truly historic event

The Greatest Royal Rumble kicked off with a big match between two legendary Superstars, Triple H and John Cena, at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Other big matches on the card were AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE World Championship and Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Title. Let's also not forget the 50 man Greatest Royal Rumble, the biggest event of the night to celebrate history in the making.


#1 Triple H vs. John Cena

The match kicked off with each veteran sizing each other up before Triple H took control; the Game hasn't forgotten his mind games. HHH had Cena in a submission before hitting him with a kick to the mid-section. HHH mocked John with the "you can't see me" gesture and Cena retaliated but failed to win back the momentum.

Triple H had Cena on the mat before mocking him again and Cena tried to grab him in a roll-up but failed. John Cena was caught in a sleeper hold by HHH and looked to be struggling. Cena took control after being released with a shoulder tackle but was it answered by a clothesline. Triple H caught Cena in the Pedigree but Cena countered it into an Attitude Adjustment but failed to land it. Triple H mocked Cena a little more before hitting him with a Five Knuckle Shuffle.

Cena took to the top rope for a leg drop but Triple H caught him in a powerbomb. Cena took control and caught HHH in an STF lock but The Game escaped. Cena hit HHH with the Five Knuckle Shuffle followed by an AA but somehow, The Game kicked out.

Cena went for a second AA but Triple H reversed it into a Pedigree although he failed to get the three count. The two countered each other's finishers a few time before Cena lifted HHH into an AA, followed up with a slingshot into the turnbuckles and finished up with a second AA. Cena went for the pin and secured the victory!

#2 Cedric Alexander (c) vs Kalisto - Cruiserweight Championship Match

The two competitors showed great athleticism with a great hurricanrana and a suicide dive from Kalisto and a huge dropkick to the face of Kalisto. Cedric had Kalisto in a body lock for at least a couple of minutes before Kalisto gained control with a crossbody and another hurricanrana but failed to capitalise.

Kalisto checked Alexander with a Springboard Spanish Fly, hurting himself in the process. Kalisto had control by reversing a Lumbar Check but Alexander caught Kalisto's Salida del Sol into a lumbar check. Cedric went for the pin and three counts later, he defended his Cruiserweight Championship.

Result: Cedric Alexander (c) def. Kalisto and defended the Cruiserweight Championship.

Matt and Sheamus kicked off the match and Wyatt was tagged in early; the team took early control of the match. Cesaro had Hardy in a submission move and he seemed to be in trouble. Cesaro caught Matt with a gut wrench suplex but failed to capitalise.

Bray went for a Sister Abigail on Cesaro but Sheamus helped his partner get out of it. Cesaro's attempt at regaining control was thwarted by Matt. Bray Wyatt went for a second Sister Abigail and saw it through. He and Matt hit their combined finisher on Sheamus and Matt got the pinfall. Cesaro carried an unconscious Sheamus out of the ring and backstage while the Awoke duo celebrated their first title win.

Result: Woken Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt def. The Bar to become the new WWE RAW Tag Team Champions

#4 Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Jinder Mahal - United States Championship Match

Sunil Singh kept distracting Jeff Hardy early on, giving Jinder a lot of opportunities to hurt his competitor. Jinder had Matt in a submission before Matt took Mahal down with a Twist of Fate. Jinder went for the blockbuster but Hardy reversed it; missing the following Whisper in the Wind, but Jinder fell down anyway.

Jinder went for the Khallas but it was reversed. Jeff hit him with a twist of fate before following it up with a huge Swanton Bomb. Hardy went for the pin and it was over; Matt Hardy retained the WWE US Championship.

#5 Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs. The Usos - SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match

Jey Uso and Rowan started the match off and the Bludgeon Brothers had control of the match, demonstrating their brutal strength. Rowan went for the pin but failed to get the three count. The Uso's took control as Jimmy was tagged in. Harper was the legal man and was double-teamed by the Usos.

Harper slapped Rowan across the face and they double-teamed a helpless Jimmy Uso with the neckbreaker/powerbomb combo to pin him and get the three count. The Bludgeon brothers defeat The Usos to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.

#6 Seth Rollins (c) vs. The Miz vs. Samoa Joe Vs. Finn Balor - Ladder Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Seth Rollins took out his opponents with some crushing suicide dives before teaming up with The Miz to drive a ladder into the chest of Samoa Joe. Rollins climbed to the top the ladder but his attempt was foiled was Balor. The two were on the top when The Miz and Joe dropped the ladder with them on it. Samoa Joe took out The Miz after it looked like they would team up and sent Rollins and Balor into a ladder.

The Miz hit Samoa Joe with a skull crushing finale on the ladder and sent him flying outside. The Miz and Rollins were on the ladder and when Rollins went down, Balor thwarted Miz's attempt and took a skull crushing finale. Rollins tried to capitalise but took a DDT before being sent into the announce table.

The Miz was on the ladder and took a coupe de grace from Balor before Samoa Joe interrupted. Joe had Balor in the coquina clutch but Finn escaped and climbed the ladder but was busted open in the process. Amidst the confusion, Seth Rollins climbed on the other side of the ladder and jumped up to grab the title in front of Balor's face and retained his IC title!

The four newly signed Superstars from the Saudi Arabian tryouts were being introduced when the Daivari Brothers interfered and pushed them around, inciting the crowd. The Irani brothers took finishers from four fresh Superstars and retreated.

AJ and Nakamura traded taunts and the match looked like it could go either way. AJ caught Nakamura with a big dropkick and followed up with some chops to the chest but failed to capitalise. Nakamura kicked AJ onto to the apron before catching his dangling head with a knee from the outside, leading up to a kick out from Styles.

Shinsuke tried for a facebuster but AJ reversed it into one of his own before catching him with a big forearm, followed by a neck-breaker. Nakamura was in control as he slammed AJ face first into the mat, setting up for a Kinshasa but missed and was caught in a calf crusher from AJ. Nakamura caught AJ on the top rope and delivered a big kick to head before AJ slipped through and caused Nakamura to fall face first on the turnbuckle.

Nakamura went for the armbar but AJ escaped and connected with a huge Pele kick. Styles went for a springboard forearm but Nakamura escaped, causing AJ to hit the referee. Nakamura took the opportunity to deliver a low blow and went for a pin but AJ caught the bottom rope in time.

The match went outside as AJ tackled Nakamura through an announce table. AJ went on a rampage, causing the match to end in a double count-out. AJ was about to leave the ring but came back ringside and sent Nakamura through the barricades before attacking him with a steel chair.

Result: Aj Style (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura ended in a double count-out causing AJ Styles to retain the WWE World Championship

Rusev refused to remain in the ring and The Undertaker attacked him outside. Taker delivered some big blows to Rusev before delivering a crushing Old School. Rusev was bounced off the casket and he ran away scared. Rusev was sent crashing into the barricades and then on the announce table before Taker delivered a leg drop on Rusev who was on the apron. Taker rolled Rusev into the casket but Aiden English stopped him from closing it, distracting Taker and giving Rusev the opportunity to roll out.

The Undertaker was in trouble as the Super Athlete but managed to take him down before Rusev caught him with a spinning heel kick. Rusev worked on wearing out Taker who was eventually down but did his trademark sit up and caught Rusev from behind. Rusev reversed a chokeslam but caught the next one. Taker managed to get Rusev in the casket again and Aiden stepped into the ring, only to take a chokeslam and a tombstone piledriver before he too was rolled into the casket and the Undertaker wasted no time closing the casket and getting the victory.

Result: The Undertaker def. Rusev

#9 Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns - Steel Cage Match for the Universal Championship

Brock Lesnar starts off strong with three German suplexes straight out of the gate. Brock kept the pressure on with one more German suplex followed by an F5. The Big Dog recovered and hit Lesnar with three Superman punches and just as Brock tried for an F5 in the corner, Roman tried scaling the cage. Brock Pulled Roman back in and tried to escape himself but Reigns caught him in a powerbomb.

Samoa Joe was seen watching the match from the dressing room TV as Reigns hurled Brock at the cage before catching him in a spear. Roman followed up with a second and then a third spear but Brock kicked out at two. Roman tried to escape the cage but Paul Heyman interrupted sending him back in and into another F5 before Heyman sent a steel chair into the ring.

Brock took his gloves off and was about to hit Reigns with the chair but was caught in a spear. Reigns attacked Lesnar with the chair repeatedly before knocking out Brock with a Superman punch. Reigns sent Brock through the steel cage wall with spear and Lesnar hit the ground first, causing him to retain the Universal Title.

Result: Brock Lesnar def. Roman Reigns to retain the WWE Universal Championship

#10 Greatest Royal Rumble - 50-Man Royal Rumble Match

History was made at Jeddah with the 50-man Royal R

Daniel Bryan kicked off the Rumble match with Dolph Ziggler. The two went at it to get a quick elimination and Ziggler hit Bryan with a big dropkick.

Sin Cara was the third entry and he started off strong with a Swanton bomb to Daniel Bryan. Ziggler eliminated Sin Cara and him and Bryan were locked in battle yet again.

Curtis Axel came in fourth and attacked both Superstars in the ring.

The fifth entry was WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry and this was his 10th Rumble. Mark Henry took out Dolph Ziggler with a headbutt.

Mike Kanellis was the sixth entry and he was thrown out by Mark Henry out before he could even join the fight.

Sumo wrestling legend Hiroki Sumi was the seventh entry and went out just as fast with Mark Henry being taken out by Zolph and Bryan.

Victor came in next and he and Bryan struggled for a bit before Daniel Bryan took him out.

The night's ninth entry was Kofi Kingston and Bryan attacked the New Day member.

Tony Neese was next and it was his first Rumble match.

Dash Wilder came in after Neese and took the fight to Daniel Bryan.

Hornswoggle came in as Dash Wilder left the ring. Swoggle delivered Samoan drop to Kofi and was eliminated by Tony Neese soon after.

Primo was the next entry at number thirteen and picked a fight with Tony Neese.

Xavier Woods was the fourteenth entry and he came to aid of Kofi. Kofi and Xavier put on a show and Tony Neese joined the celebratory dance but the New Day used it at a distraction to eliminate Neese.

Bo Dallas came in as the fifteenth entry and Kurt Angle was the sixteenth. Angle took out Dallas and Primo before taking a Superkick from Dolph but Ziggler was eliminated by Angle as well.

Scott Dawson was next as the New Day double-teamed Daniel Bryan.

Golddust was the eighteenth man in and took the fight to the New Day.

Konnor came in next and went to work on Kofi but was interrupted by Woods.

Elias came in while playing his guitar and eliminated Konnor and the two New Day members in one swift motion.

Luke Gallows was the twenty-first entry while in the ring, Bryan hit Angle with the yes kicks but was delivered an Angle slam in return. Elias sent a distracted Kurt Angle outside and it was time for the next entry.

Rhyno was next and Drew Gulak followed right after.

Tucker Knight from NXT stable Heavy Machinery was a surprise entry at number twenty-four and he started off by eliminating Drew Gulak.

Bobby Roode was next and Goldust has eliminated soon after.

Fandango was next up and attacked Gallows.

Chad Gable came in next and picked up Tucker Knight for a slam.

At number twenty-eight was the legend, Rey Mysterio who eliminated good brother Gallows.

Mojo Rawley was the next one in and took out Fandango immediately.

Tyler Breeze came in after and was eliminated immediately.

Big E was the thirty-first entry and we were only about halfway through as he started throwing flapjacks at Knight, eliminating him soon after.

Karl Anderson was the next one in and managed to take both Bryan and Roode to the mat before he was attacked by Big E.

Apollo Crews was in and attacked Chad Gable, eliminating the former American Alpha member.

Roderick Strong came in next and eliminated Rhyno.

Randy Orton entered soon after and delivered an RKO Crews and taking out three superstars including Crews and Rawley.

Heath Slater was next and Babatunde from NXT live shows followed.

At number thirty-eight was the Lone Wolf, Baron Corbin and he eliminated Bobby Roode.

Titus O'Neil came in next and instead of sliding into the ring, he slid under it in a hilarious way.

Number forty is Dan Matha followed by Braun Strowman at number forty-one. Strowman took out Babatunde and Matha as well as Big E and Slater.

Tye Dillinger came in at forty-two and Strowman eliminated Titus and Dillinger. Strowman took a 619 and an RKO from Mysterio and Randy. Corbin eliminated Mysterio and Elias eliminated Orton.

Curtis Hawkins was the next one in and tried running away. Strowman caught him and forced him back in before throwing him out again.

Bobby Lashley came in at forty-four and attacked Elias before taking him out over the ropes.

The Great Khali came in at number thirty-five but was taken out soon enough.

Kevin Owens entered at number forty-six and went to work on the three other survivors.

Shane McMahon came out next and Owens was visibly angry. Shane and Bryan took turns delivering the Yes kicks to Owens.

Shelton Benjamin showed up at number forty-eight followed by Big Cass at number forty-nine. Shane delivered a coast to coast to Braun and sent him outside but under the ropes.

The last entry of the night was Chris Jericho as he and KO looked to settle the score. Shelton was eliminated by Jericho who also caught KO in the Walls of Jericho.

Shane went for a coast to coast on KO but Strowman returned and sent Shane McMahon crashing through an announce table from the top rope.

Jericho was eliminated and Cass eliminated Bryan. Cass and Strowman were the only ones in the ring while Bryan set the record for the most time spent in the ring at a Royal Rumble.

Strowman caught Cass on the ropes with a big move eliminating the last runner-up and winning the 50-Man Royal Rumble!

Result: Braun Strowman won the Greatest Royal Rumble!

After the match, Vince McMahon and another member, seemingly of the Saudi Royal family,

presented Braun Strowman with the trophy and Championship title!
