The backstory

It won't be a stretch if one calls Kurt Angle the best pure athlete this business has ever seen. Angle won gold at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996, and was soon signed to a contract with WWE. He went on to have one of the greatest careers of a WWE Superstar, becoming King of the Ring and winning the WWE title early on in his run.

Angle's goofy heel gimmick produced tons of hilarious segments back in the early 2000s. He headlined WrestleMania for the first time when he took on Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 19, with the WWE title on the line.

Angle went on to have WrestleMania classics against Eddie Guerrero and Shawn Michaels in the coming years. He left WWE in 2006 and kicked off a career in Impact Wrestling, winning the World title on six occasions. Angle came back to WWE in 2017 as the General Manager of Monday Night Raw.

The foreshadowing

Many fans aren't aware of a tweet that Angle sent way back in 2012, when he was still an active member of the Impact Wrestling roster. During a live episode of Impact, Angle posted a tweet to campaign for the position of Raw GM. With a mere 27 likes, the tweet didn't garner much attention and it's clear that Angle didn't have a large fanbase on Twitter at the time, contrary to the present, when he has just over a million followers. The aftermath

In January 2017, WWE announced that Angle would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The Raw after WrestleMania 33 saw him being announced as the General Manager of Monday Night Raw to a huge ovation. It's incredible how Angle accidentally foreshadowed his crowning as the Raw GM, a whopping five years before it actually happened.
