The backstory

By the time 1999 rolled around, Triple H was getting back his steam that he had lost way back after being a part of the infamous Curtain Call incident. The Game was on his way to becoming one of the top stars in the business.

At WWE No Mercy 1999, Stone Cold Steve Austin met Triple H in the main event of the night, with the WWE title on the line. After The Rock accidentally hit Austin with a Sledgehammer, Triple H hit him with a Pedigree, and successfully pinned Austin. Triple H and Austin continued fighting in a backstage area, with Chyna picking up Triple H and fleeing the scene in a limo.

The Stunner Barrage

The night after on Raw, when the show went off the air, Stone Cold kicked off a beer celebration. Triple H soon unleashed an attack on The Rattlesnake. It didn't last long though, as Austin managed to hit Triple H with a devastating Stunner. Triple H soon got up, grabbed a beer can, climbed on one side of the turnbuckle, and flipped off the fans. As soon as he turned around, Austin hit him with another Stunner, with Triple H spitting beer in a hilarious visual. This was followed by Triple H regaining conscious and pushing the referee Earl Hebner, who retaliated, giving Austin another opportunity to hit a Stunner.

Austin was about to leave, but decided to turn back from the ramp and hit two consecutive Stunners on Triple H. Finally, Austin offered a beer to The Game. A reluctant Triple H took the can and began drinking, shook hands with Austin, and immediately fell prey to another Stunner, the sixth in a row!
