WWE Live Event: Greenville, NC Results (December 11th, 2016)

Ambrose wrestled Bray Wyatt in the main event

The latest WWE Live event took place in Greenville, North Carolina and it featured the SmackDown Live roster. It was headlined by a match between Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose but recorded a low attendance, as the arena was not even half-full.

Although top Superstars of the brand like The Miz, Randy Orton, AJ Styles missed the event; the show was solid. The results have been provided below:

#1 Heath Slater and Rhyno vs. Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango)

Slater and Rhyno received a huge pop, but there was not much of a reaction for Breezango. The match was short but entertaining. A Gore to Fandango helped Rhyno pick up the win for his team.

Result: Rhyno and Heath Slater beat Breezango.


#2 Kalisto vs. Baron Corbin

Kalisto was greeted with a remarkable ovation. Throughout the match, there were ‘Lucha!” chants. The match itself was an unexpectedly good. Corbin countered a high-flying manoeuvre of Kalisto into his finisher, End of Days, and picked up the victory.

Result: Baron Corbin defeated Kalisto via pinfall.


#3 Apollo Crews vs. Curt Hawkins

The match was short, and Crews delivered an impressive performance. Crews dominated the entire contest and Hawkins merely fought back. He pinned Hawkins following the spin-out powerbomb.

Result: Apollo Crews won via pinfall.

After the match, when Crews left, Hawkins cut a heel promo and went on to blame the referee for his loss. Then, he demanded another opponent and the challenge was answered by Jack Swagger.


#4 Curt Hawkins vs. Jack Swagger

This bout lasted for only about a minute. The former World Champion took down Hawkins as soon as the bell rang, and applied the Patriot Lock. Hawkins submitted almost immediately.

Result: Jack Swagger won via submission.

#5 Dolph Ziggler vs. Luke Harper

Ziggler was over with the crowd and received big pops. The match was decent, but a bit lengthy. Harper dominated Ziggler for most of the time, with the Showoff pulling out only a handful offensive moves. Towards the end, Ziggler delivered a Superkick on Harper, then the ZigZag and pinned him for the win.

Result: Dolph Ziggler defeated Luke Harper via pinfall.


#6 American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable) and The Hype Bros. (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley) vs. The Ascension (Konor and Viktor) and The Vaudevillains (Simon Gotch and Aiden English)

All the wrestlers were involved in the match at some point. It turned out to be just an average contest, with no memorable spots.

Result: American Alpha and The Hype Bros defeated The Vaudevillains and The Ascension


#7 Alexa Bliss(c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Carmella vs. Natalya [Fatal 4 way match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship]

Becky Lynch had the best pop among the females. The match was surprisingly short and disappointed some of the fans in attendance. Taking advantage of Natalya and Lynch not being in the ring, Alexa pinned Carmella after the Twisted Bliss to retain her Championship.

Result: Alexa Bliss defeated Carmella, Natalya and Becky Lynch to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship


#8 Bray Wyatt vs. Dean Ambrose [Street Fight]

Undoubtedly, this was the match of the night. The crowd was vocal throughout the match and chanted for Ambrose. Nearly 20 minutes into the match, Luke Harper made his presence felt. Soon, James Ellsworth walked in and just stood at ringside. The audience started Ellsworth chants.

As he tried to interfere, Harper super kicked him, and this distraction allowed Ambrose to hit the Dirty Deeds on Wyatt for the win.

Result: Dean Ambrose defeated Bray Wyatt
