WWE’s live event in Florence, South Carolina was headlined by an exciting WWE Championship matchup.

On the other hand, The Usos put their SmackDown Tag Team Championships on the line against Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin. Several other awesome matches also transpired at the event, so, without further ado, here are the complete results from WWE’s SmackDown live event in Florence, South Carolina (January 20th, 2018)—


#1 The New Day vs. Rusev & Aiden English

Both teams competing in this matchup came out to a huge pop from the fans in attendance.

While The New Day seized control early on in the matchup, Rusev & Aiden English fought back and controlled the proceedings midway. Nevertheless, The New Day worked their way back into the match; besting Rusev & English in the end.

Result: The New Day def. Rusev & Aiden English


#2 Tye Dillinger vs. Mike Kanellis

Tye Dillinger took on Mike Kanellis in a matchup that received mixed reactions from the fans in attendance.

Dillinger dominated the matchup throughout, and with the fans’ support divided, ‘The Perfect 10’ bested Kanellis. Dillinger didn’t engage in his usual celebration after winning the match but instead continued to shun the fans; preventing them from engaging in his ‘Ten’ chant. The heel turn tease continues.

#3 The Bludgeon Brothers vs. The Colons vs. The Ascension

The Bludgeon Brothers, Harper & Rowan, took on The Colons and The Ascension in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match.

Harper & Rowan asserted their dominance early on against The Colons and The Ascension. The action was fairly brief over long stretches in the matchup, with The Bludgeon Brothers simply throwing around their foes. In the end, Harper & Rowan picked up the win.

Result: The Bludgeon Brothers def. The Colons, and The Ascension


#4 Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin

Shinsuke Nakamura arrived to a huge ovation from the fans in Florence, South Carolina. On the other hand, boos were rained down on Baron Corbin as he attacked Nakamura, and seemed to be in control of the matchup in the initial phase.

Besides, both Nakamura and Corbin also engaged in a dance-off. In the end, Nakamura ended up besting Corbin; walking away with the victory.

#5 Bobby Roode vs. Jinder Mahal

WWE United States Champion Bobby Roode put his title on the line against Jinder Mahal.

To start things off ‘The Modern Day Maharajah’ dominated Roode on the mat; laying a beat-down on ‘The Glorious’ one. Regardless, Roode came back strong down the stretch in order to beat Mahal, and successfully retain his US title.

#6 Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch & Naomi vs. Natalya, Tamina Snuka, Carmella & Lana

Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch & Naomi teamed up so as to take on Natalya, Tamina Snuka, Carmella & Lana in a 4-on-3 Handicap Match.

Despite being outnumbered, Flair, Lynch & Naomi dominated the match, with Carmella & Lana avoiding partaking in the match for the most of it. In the end, Flair, Lynch & Naomi emerged victorious.

Result: Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch & Naomi def. Natalya, Tamina Snuka, Carmella & Lana

#7 The Usos vs. Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos put their titles on the line against Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin.

The fans in attendance were firmly in support of The Usos, however, Gable & Benjamin dominated the majority of the match with high-level mat wrestling manoeuvres. Regardless, Jimmy & Jey Uso rallied to beat their foes and walk away with their SmackDown Tag Team titles intact.

Result: The Usos def. Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin


#8 AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn

AJ Styles put his WWE Championship on the line against Sami Zayn in a Steel Cage Match, in the main event of the evening.

The fans in attendance cheered deafeningly for Styles, as he went to work on Zayn. While Zayn did have his moments in the fight, Styles got the best of him and walked away with the WWE Championship.

Result: AJ Styles def. Sami Zayn
