AJ Styles defended his WWE Title in a fatal-four way match on the night
AJ Styles defended his WWE Title in a fatal-four way match on the night

The superstars of WWE’s blue brand, that is, Smackdown Live, made a stop in the city of Moline, Illinois last night for a house show ahead of the fast-approaching Smackdown Live exclusive pay-per-view Fastlane.

The WWE Universe in Milone had the chance of witnessing a total of four title matches last night as the Smackdown Live Tag Team Titles and the Women’s Title were both up for grabs. Meanwhile, “The Glorious One” Bobby Roode also had the uphill task of defending his WWE United States Title against Randy Orton, whereas, AJ Styles was on the task of defending his WWE Title in a fatal-four way match.

#1 The Usos vs The New Day vs Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin vs Aiden English and Rusev- (Smackdown Live Tag Team Titles)

The evening kicked off with a solid four-way tag team match with the Smackdown Live Tag Titles on the line, as brothers Jimmy and Jey Uso had the uphill battle of facing off against four of Smackdown’s top teams.

Kofi Kingston and Big E represented The New Day in this match, as former US Champion Rusev got the loudest pop from the WWE Universe on Rusev Day, whereas, The Usos were also hugely over as well.

The match itself was fast paced and had some fun spots, as both Jimmy and Jey eventually retained their tag title after superkicking everyone and pinning Aiden English for the win.

Result: The Usos def. The New Day, Gable & Benjamin, and Rusev & English to retain the Smackdown Live Tag Team Titles.

#2 Mojo Rawley vs Tye Dillinger

Next up, we had the first singles match of the evening as Mojo Rawley squared off against “The Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger, who tried his best to get over with the crowd, even though he did not get much of a strong response.

Rawley picked up the win on Dillinger following a sunset flip pin reversal while holding the ropes as “The Perfect 10” suffered a disappointing loss, to say the least.

Result: Mojo Rawley def. Tye Dillinger

#3 The Bludgeon Brothers vs Breezango

The match kicked-off with Harper and Rowan doing their usual face-smack exchange as Harper smacked Rowan in the face, which eventually led to some comedy spots where Fandango was seen mocking The Bludgeon Brothers after smacking Tyler Breeze on the face.

However, Harper and Rowan meant business and were not too keen on playing along with The Fashion Police as Harper pinned Breeze following a vicious discus clothesline.

Result: Bludgeon Brothers def. Breezango

#4 Jinder Mahal (w/Sunil Singh) vs Sin Cara

With the absence of his brother Samir, Sunil Singh decided to address the crowd as he cut a brief promo in order to initially kick-start this rather short match.

Sin Cara, who tried his best to pull off a massive win over the former WWE Champion, attempted a suicide dive in the closing stages of the match, however, Mahal was clever enough to pull Sunil Singh in front of him in order to prevent the suicide dive. Jinder got the win over Sin Cara after hitting The Khallas for the win.

Result: Jinder Mahal def. Sin Cara

#5 Naomi and Becky Lynch vs Carmella and Lana vs Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan

The next match of the evening was the first women’s match of the night as the Moline audience witnessed a triple threat tag team match featuring six of the most talented female stars from the Smackdown roster.

This match went on for a while but did not feature anything special. Lana, who is still pretty new to the pro wrestling ring, spent about 10 seconds in the match before Becky Lynch eventually picked up the win for her and Naomi after locking in the Dis-arm-her submission.

Result: Nao Naomi and Becky Lynch def. Carmella and Lana and Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan

#6 Bobby Roode vs Randy Orton- (WWE United States Championship match)

Randy Orton came out to a huge ovation from the crowd and was by far one of the most over superstars on the night. This was a solid match, pitting two of the best babyfaces of the blue brand, however, “The Glorious One” Bobby Roode was rather seen playing the role of the aggressor in the match.

The match ended in a no-contest when Jinder Mahal came in and assaulted both Orton and Roode, which eventually meant that Roode had successfully retained his title. The US Champion also managed to fend-off Mahal’s attack and hit him with the Glorious DDT, however, “The Viper” Randy Orton was eventually the last man standing after he hit the RKO on both Roode and Jinder.

Result: No-contest

#7 Charlotte Flair vs Ruby Riott vs Natalya- Smackdown Live Women’s Championship

This was a pretty basic triple threat match, with not too many fancy and memorable spots. Ruby and Natalya mostly worked along with each other during the match and double-teamed on Charlotte, but, “The Queen” somehow managed to walk away successfully with her title after she locked in the Figure 8 submission for the win.

Result: Charlotte Flair def. Ruby Riott and Natalya to retain the Smackdown Live Women’s Title

#8 Shinsuke Nakamura vs Dolph Ziggler

The WWE Universe didn’t seem too invested in this match and barely reacted for either Nakamura or Ziggler. Ziggler, who will be a part of the upcoming six-pack challenge WWE Title match at Fastlane, tried his best to try and play the crowd into singing Nakamura’s theme song in order to get some heat, but, once again the WWE Universe didn’t seem to care much.

Nevertheless, both Ziggler and Nakamura did manage to put up an amazing match as the crowd slowly came alive and started to respond to both men. “The King of Strong Style” picked up the win after connecting with the Kinsasha out of nowhere; following a schoolboy pin attempt by Ziggler.

Result: Shinsuke Nakamura def. Dolph Ziggler

#9 AJ Styles vs Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens vs Baron Corbin- WWE Championship

With AJ Styles set to defend his WWE Title against five other men at Fastlane, “The Phenomenal One” once again had his plate full ahead of the Fastlane show as he had the task of overcoming three other superstars on an action filled night in Moline.

The match started after Owens and Zayn shared a long hug with each other, as Styles and Corbin came in and started beating up both guys. Both Owens and Zayn looked pretty strong and dominant throughout the match as they teamed up on AJ Styles for the most part of it. However, Styles managed to retain the WWE Title following a Phenomenal Forearm on Zayn for the win.

Result: AJ Styles def. Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Baron Corbin to retain the WWE Championship.
