The latest Smackdown-exclusive WWE live event was hosted in Newcastle, England. There were a total of nine matches for the fans in attendance, which included three Championship defences. Several participants of the UK Tournament, including the WWE United Kingdom Champion, Tyler Bate, were part of the show.
The results of the event are provided below:
#1 Shinsuke Nakamura vs Dolph Ziggler
Shinsuke Nakamura made his entrance amidst thunderous cheers. Like the previous matches between Ziggler and Nakamura, this bout was also a slow paced match. ‘The King of Strong Style’ got the pinfall over the former World Champion following a Kinshasa.
Result: Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Dolph Ziggler
#2 Tye Dillinger and Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) vs Aiden English and The Ascension (Konor and Viktor)
The Ascension dominated the early part of the match but a hot tag to Dillinger shifted the momentum towards the ‘babyface’ team. In the end, Tyler Breeze pinned Viktor following the Beauty Shot and picked up the win for his team.
Result: Breezango and Tye Dillinger defeated The Ascension and Aiden English
#3 Luke Harper vs Erick Rowan
The former Intercontinental Champion, Harper, received a good reaction from the fans in attendance. The match went back-and-forth but the Discus Clothesline helped Harper to get the three count over his former Wyatt Family brother.
Result: Luke Harper defeated Erick Rowan
#4 Naomi, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch vs The Welcoming Committee (Natalya, Carmella and Tamina)
Lynch, Flair and Naomi were greeted with huge pops. Towards the end of the match, the referee sent James Ellsworth backstage for his several attempts to interfere. Smackdown Women’s Champion, Naomi, pinned Carmella following the Rear View and picked up the victory for her team.
Result: Charlotte Flair, Naomi and Becky Lynch defeated The Welcoming Committee
#5 Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens (c) United States Championship match
Both Owens and Zayn received loud pops from the crowd and they went on to deliver one of the best matches of the night. In the end, Owens got the three count following the Pop-up powerbomb.
Post-match, the United States Champion cut a promo to diss the fans but he had to stop after attacked by Zayn. Owens was also at the receiving end of a Helluva Kick.
Result: Kevin Owens retained the United States Championship over Sami Zayn
#6 Tyler Bate, Saxon Huxley and Trent Seven vs Pete Dunne, Joseph Connors and James Drake
All the participants got pops from the fans in attendance. The Burning Hammer on Connors helped Seven to earn his team the victory.
Result: Tyler Bate, Trent Seven and Saxon Huxley defeated Joseph Connors, Pete Dunne and James Drake
#7 Mojo Rawley vs Baron Corbin
This match lasted a few minutes as Corbin squashed the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner.
Result: Baron Corbin defeated Mojo Rawley
#8 The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso)(c) vs The Colons (Epico and Primo) vs American Alpha (Chad Gable and Jason Jordan) [Triple threat Smackdown Tag team Championship match]
The Usos and Alpha received a good reaction from the crowd. The match was an entertaining one and came to an end with The Usos getting the pinfall.
Result: The Usos defeated American Alpha and The Colons to retain the Smackdown Tag team Championship
#9 Randy Orton(c) vs AJ Styles vs Jinder Mahal (with the Singh Brothers) [Triple threat WWE Championship match]
The Phenomenal one, AJ Styles, got one of the loudest pops of the night. The match was a good contest and it included numerous interference attempts from the Singh Brothers. The match ended as Orton hit the RKO on Mahal and pinned him.
Result: Randy Orton defeated Jinder Mahal and AJ Styles to retain the WWE Championship
