WWE Live Event Results: Salt Lake City, UT(12/2)

One of the perks of being at live events.
Joe and Reigns were part of a mammoth six-man main event.

The RAW Roster stopped over in Utah for a stacked live event. Barring The Miz and Brock Lesnar, all the top names of the red brand were in action at the house show that was headlined by marquee Shield match.

Enzo Amore was the only champion who put his title on the line on a night that saw a host of interesting pairings. So without further adieu, here are the results and highlights of the show:

#1 Finn Balor vs. Karl Anderson

The Demon King went up against a former ally of his to kick of the proceedings for the night. The former Bullet Club stablemates put on a solid opener that ended with Balor picking up the win with the Coup De Grace.

The atmosphere at the Maverick Center was too sweet as the fans were firmly behind the former Universal Champion.

Result: Finn Balor def. Karl Anderson

#2 Rhyno, Heath Slater & Apollo Crews vs. Curtis Axel, Dash Wilder & Curt Hawkins

A randomly put together match featuring the unused mid-carders followed the opening match. The first ever SmackDown Tag Team Champions teamed up with Apollo Crews to take on the heel combination of Curtis Axel, Curt Hawkins, and the returning Dash Wilder.

Wilder has been forced to watch from the sidelines ever since his partner Scott Dawson suffered a torn bicep earlier this year. It's good to see WWE utilize the 'top star' as a singles competitor.

The babyfaces went over the heel in the six-man encounter.

Result: Rhyno, Slater & Crews def. Axel, Wilder & Hawkins

Matt Hardy's Woken condition worsened after his match against Bray Wyatt at the show. WWE and Hardy himself posted about the latest developments on the storm that's about to break everything as we know it.

Check it out the wooonderful video below:

#3 Asuka vs. Alicia Fox

Salt Lake City fans were in for a unique experience next as the Empress of Tomorrow took on Alicia Fox in brief yet entertaining match. While the women's division for RAW may not be ready for the Japenese sensation, the fans in attendance seemed like they were born ready.

The longest reigning NXT Women's Champion was quite over in her win over Fox.

Result: Asuka def. Fox

#4 Elias vs. Jason Jordan

Things continue to go downhill for Kurt Angle's son. After getting brutalized by Kane this past week, The Drifter picked up the scraps and pulled off a surprising win.

The surprise here is because heels rarely win on the live event circuit. Thus, a win over Jordan could hint at WWE's priorities. The higher ups probably see Elias as a star with more heat at this moment while also building up towards the eventual Jordan heel turn stemming out of recent frustrations.

Result: Elias def. Jason Jordan

#5 Kane vs. Braun Strowman

The giants went toe to toe yet again with yet another inconclusive finish. The match ended in DQ after Kane attacked the Monster Among Men with a chair.

Strowman was arguably the second most over on the night after Shield. The two behemoths are expected to have a big match at Royal Rumble.

Result: Braun Strowman def. Kane via DQ

#6 Bayley & Sasha Banks vs. Alexa Bliss & Nia Jax (Mickie James as special guest referee)

The battle between the two sets of best friends of the RAW Women's division had an unlikely star as the special guest referee. It seems WWE couldn't come up with anything better for Mickie James as she donned the black and whites in the match that ended with the babyfaces coming out on top.

Banks and Bayley celebrated with the fans to give way for the one and only title match of the night.

Result: Bayley & Banks def. Bliss and Jax

#7 Enzo Amore vs. Kalisto (Cruiserweight Championship Match)

The Certified G put the Cruiserweight title on the line against the high-flying Kalisto for the umpteenth time. The outcome didn't change either.

Amore hit the JawDonZo on the Kalisto to retain his title. The champion cut one of his usual promos prior to the match and berated the Lucha Dragon. Thankfully for him, he backed it up in a decent title match.

Result: Enzo Amore def. Kalisto

#8 The Shield vs. Samoa Joe, Cesaro & Sheamus

The Hounds of Justice closed the show in a match against the makeshift team of Samoa Joe and the RAW Tag Team Champions. The fans, naturally, saved the best pops of the night for the Shield.

Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose sent the fans home happy by beating the heels in a match filled with countless near falls and high-impact spots.

Having the Shield celebrate a win with the fans is a solid way to end a show.

Result: Shield def. Joe, Cesaro, and Sheamus
