Triple H made his in-ring return at Santiago, Chile
Triple H made his in-ring return at Santiago, Chile

This was a house show dominated by the in-ring return of Triple-H who had flown out to Chile to replace AJ Styles, as 'The Phenomenal One' had a last minute date with 'The Demon' Finn Balor at TLC 2017.

However, the rest of the SmackDown LIVE roster wasn't going to be outdone by Triple H's appearance and all put on one hell of a show, with Randy Orton teaming with The New Day to take on The Usos and Sami Zayn, Sin Cara facing Aiden English, Natalya defending her title against Naomi, Charlotte and Becky Lynch vs Carmella and Tamina, a United States Title triple-threat match and WWE Champion Jinder Mahal against 'The Architect' Shinsuke Nakamura.

#1 The New Day & Randy Orton vs The Usos and Sami Zayn

Talk about the perfect match to kick off the show. 'The Viper' Randy Orton teamed up with Kofi Kingston and Big E to take on The Usos and Sami Zayn. All six men played up to the crowd leading to a fun match. The finish came when Randy Orton hit Sami Zayn with a huge mid-air RKO, as Zayn jumped from the top rope.

After the match The Usos tried to get Randy Orton to dance, leading to the multiple time world champion running away in fear. Hilarious stuff.

#2 Aiden English vs Sin Cara

It's good to see Sin Cara back in action following his prolonged absence. The high-flyer went from upsetting Baron Corbin on SmackDown LIVE to grappling with a 'Drama King' at Santiago.

It was an okay match with English winning over the crowd beforehand with a promo that included Spanish, and Sin Cara winning over the crowd with his high-flying moves. Cara picked up the win with a big Frog Splash off the top.

Result: Sin Cara def. Aiden English

Natalya (c) vs Naomi - SmackDown Women's Title Match

Naomi's entrance went over incredibly well with the Santiago crowd. So much so that I was worried they'd have Natalya drop the title.

My concerns about a shock house show title change were unwarranted, however, as Natalya forced Naomi to tap out when she applied her patented Sharpshooter to retain her title.

Result: Natalya retains against Naomi

#3 Triple H vs Rusev

Rusev came out and cut a promo in Bulgarian because we all love a foreign heel. Luckily for us, Triple H was on hand to cut the promo short and start a match between the two. Obviously, the crowd went absolutely nuts.

Surprisingly the match was fairly one-sided in Rusev's favour with the 'Bulgarian Brute' getting in almost all of the offence. Triple H did a great job of selling for Rusev until it was time to hit his signature moves and put Rusev down with the pedigree to make the crowd happy.

Result: Triple H def. Rusev

After the match, The New Day came out and made Triple H dance. He actually twerked in the middle of a WWE ring before hitting Kofi Kingston with another Pedigree for good measure.

#4 Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch vs Carmella & Tamina

Charlotte and Becky were very popular at Santiago
Charlotte and Becky were very popular at Santiago

Becky Lynch received a huge pop when she entered, and Carmella received plenty of laughs with her antics, even if James Elsworth wasn't there. However, Charlotte stole the show once again when she made Carmella tap out to the Figure Four, picking up the win for her and Becky.

#5 Baron Corbin vs Tye Dillinger vs Bobby Roode - United States Championship Match

This was the first time I've understood the WWE's decision to turn Bobby Roode face on his call-up to the main roster, the reaction he, and his 'glorious' entrance, received was nothing short of huge.

The match was essentially the same as the United States match at Hell in a Cell. Baron Corbin won the match with a heel-esque rollup on Bobby Roode, surprising Roode, who had just hit the Glorious DDT on Tye Dillinger and was about to win himself.

Result: Baron Corbin retains against Bobby Roode and Tye Dillinger

#5 Jinder Mahal w/. The Singh Brothers vs Shinsuke Nakamura - WWE Title Match

Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers made their way out to the crowd, with Jinder still sporting the tape on his shoulders. Jinder then cut a promo asking if the crowd could understand him, before switching to Punjabi.

The match between the two went the same way as the previous matches we've seen between Nakamura and Mahal, with the Singh Brothers constantly interfering until eventually, Mahal picks up the win.

Result: Jinder Mahal retains against Shinsuke Nakamura

The trio then beat down Nakamura until he made a comeback and hit the Kinshasha on the champ to send the crowd home happy.
