WWE Live Event Results: Stockholm (May 13th, 2017)

The European tour continues with a live show in Sweden.

Stockholm, Sweden held the latest WWE live event, which featured the superstars of the blue brand. There was a total of eight matches, including three Championship defences. Unlike some of the previous events during this European tour, the show didn’t have the participants from the WWE United Kingdom tournament. 

The results of the event are provided below: 


#1 Shinsuke Nakamura vs Dolph Ziggler

Nakamura was welcomed with one of the loudest pops of the night. The match was slow paced, yet interesting. ‘The King of Strong Style’ picked up the win over the former World Champion, Ziggler, with a Kinshasa.

Result: Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Dolph Ziggler


#2 Tye Dillinger and Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) vs Aiden English and The Ascension (Konor and Viktor)

Konor and Viktor dominated early on but soon Dillinger and Breezango gained the upper hand. In the end, The Beauty Shot helped Tyler Breeze to pin Viktor and pick up the win for his team. 

Result: Breezango and Tye Dillinger defeated The Ascension and Aiden English


#3 Luke Harper vs Erick Rowan


The former Wyatt Family members delivered a short, entertaining match. Harper got the three count following the Discus Clothesline to Rowan. 

Result: Luke Harper defeated Erick Rowan


#4 Naomi, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch vs The Welcoming Committee (Natalya, Carmella and Tamina) 

Naomi, Lynch and Flair received huge pops from the audience. James Ellsworth was sent backstage for his continuous attempts to interfere. In the end, it was the Smackdown Women’s Champion, Naomi, who pinned Carmella and earned the victory for her team. 

Result: Charlotte Flair, Naomi and Becky Lynch defeated The Welcoming Committee


#5 Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens (c) [United States Championship match]

This United States Championship match was one of the best matches of the night. Owens and Zayn fought back-and-forth and the fans in attendance were vocal throughout the bout. Owens got the pinfall over Zayn following the Pop-up powerbomb.

After the match, Kevin Owens cut a typical ‘heel’ promo to diss the fans. Zayn came back and attacked the US Champion, causing him to retreat. This post-match segment concluded with Zayn displaying the Sweden flag.

Result: Kevin Owens retained the United States Championship over Sami Zayn


#6 Mojo Rawley vs Baron Corbin

The match lasted a few minutes as Corbin squashed the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner. He pinned Rawley following the End of Days manoeuvre.  

Result: Baron Corbin defeated Mojo Rawley


#7 The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) vs The Colons (Epico and Primo) vs American Alpha (Chad Gable and Jason Jordan) [Triple threat Smackdown Tag team Championship match]


American Alpha and the Usos got good reactions from the fans in attendance. The teams delivered a decent contest and it concluded with the Usos gaining the pinfall victory. 

Result: The Usos defeated American Alpha and The Colons to retain the Smackdown Tag team Championship



#8 Randy Orton(c) vs AJ Styles vs Jinder Mahal (with the Singh Brothers) [Triple threat WWE Championship match]

AJ Styles and the WWE Champion Randy Orton were greeted with one the loudest pops of the night. The match was a good one and it also included a few interference attempts from the Singh Brothers. At one point, Mahal pulled off a Tower of Doom move on Styles and Orton.

In the end, the RKO on Mahal helped ‘The Viper’ to get the three count and the win.

Result: Randy Orton defeated Jinder Mahal and AJ Styles to retain the WWE Championship
