Tampa, Florida was graced by SmackDown Live's Superstars as the blue brand visited The Big Guava as part of their WWE Holiday Tour. The event was headlined with a match between AJ Styles, Jinder Mahal and John Cena in a triple threat steel cage match.

There were various other matches on the card including a repeat of the Clash of Champions eight-man tag team match between The Usos, The New Day, Rusev & Aiden English and Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin.

Here's what happened on the 31st December WWE Live Event in Tampa, Florida -


#1 The Usos vs. The New Day vs. Aiden English & Rusev vs. Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin

The match was once again a classic, much like the Clash of Champions eight-man tag match between the four teams. The match ended when one of The Usos pinned Chad Gable for the win and successfully retain the SmackDown tag titles.

Results: The Usos retained over The New Day, Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin and Rusev & Aiden English


#2 Mojo Rawley vs. Zack Ryder

The match started with Zack Ryder entering the ring and cutting a promo about his upcoming match between him and former tag team partner, Mojo Rawley, as part of the tournament for the US Championship. Rawley ended the night as the winner.

Results: Mojo Rawley defeated Zack Ryder

#3 Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan (w/ Ruby Riott) vs. Becky Lynch & Naomi

The Riott squad came up on top in this match as Naomi was distracted by the leader of The Riot squad, Ruby Riot, only for Naomi to be rolled up by Logan for the win. Becky Lynch received a huge pop from the crowd on her return.

Results: Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan defeated Naomi & Becky Lynch


#4 Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura & Randy Orton vs. Baron Corbin, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

This match would always receive a huge pop from the crowd, considering the quality and skill of the superstars involved. Nakamura, Orton and Roode came out on top against Corbi, Owens and Zayn after Orton hit Zayn with an RKO. Randy Orton even had some fun backstage with a young fan.

Results: Bobby Roode, Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Baron Corbin, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn


#5 Breezango vs. The Bludgeon Brothers

During the intermission, there was video promo with Breezango getting advice from The Ascension on their match with The Bludgeon Brothers., which was up next. This match was pretty straightforward as The Bludgeon Brothers dominated and destroyed Breezango.

#6 Charlotte vs. Natalya vs. Carmella vs. Lana

This match saw Charlotte defend her Women's Championship against the members of the Welcoming Committee in a fatal four-way match. Lana was also accompanied to the ring by Tamina. Charlotte won after putting Natalya in the Figure Eight.

Results: Charlotte retained over Natalya, Carmella and Lana


#7 AJ Styles vs. John Cena vs. Jinder Mahal in a triple threat/steel cage match

Once again, the crowd came to life for this triple match, not so much for Jinder Mahal, but for the other two competitors, AJ Styles and John Cena. The match was thoroughly entertaining and at one point, Cena had Mahal pinned after an AA, only for The Singh Brothers to pull the referee out of the ring.

However, the match ended with Styles pinning Mahal and retaining his title after delivering a Phenomenal Forearm.

Results: AJ Styles retained over Jinder Mahal and John Cena


It is safe to say that the WWE Holiday Tour ended 2017 on a high note, as the Tampa, Florida event on New Year's Eve was a huge success. The night ended with AJ Styles thanking the crowd for the support.
