WWE Live Event Sioux City Results 22nd October, 2016

AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose faced each other in the main event

WWE was live from the Tyson Event Center in Sioux City, Iowa and it was the SmackDown roster that was present to entertain the fans. Here are the results from the Live Event in Sioux City:

#1 Apollo Crews vs. The Miz

Following his shoot interview on Talking Smack, The Miz’s stock has definitely risen but he has had to give up on the Intercontinental Championship – which Dolph Ziggler won at No Mercy. While Ziggler and Miz continue to feud, the former IC champion was seen in action against Apollo Crews and surprisingly it was Crews who registered the win via pinfall.

Result: Apollo Crews defeats The Miz

#2 Jack Swagger vs. Baron Corbin

The duo have been feuding on SmackDown Live ever since Swagger’s switch to the blue brand and it was no different at the Tyson Event Center inSioux City with the Lone Wolf getting the better of Swagger on the night.

Result: Baron Corbin defeats Jack Swagger

#3 Kalisto vs, Tyler Breeze

Kalisto had been missing from action for a while now due to a back injury but he made his in-ring return at the live event and recorded a win over Tyler Breeze via pinfall.

Result: Kalisto defeats Tyler Breeze

#4 8-Man Tag Team Match: American Alpha (Chad Gable and Jason Jordan) and The Hype Bros (Mojo Rowley and Zack Ryder) vs. The Ascension (Viktor and Konnor) and The Vaudevillains

The Sioux City crowd were treated to an 8-man tag team match between the team of American Alpha and The Hype Bros against The Vaudevillains and The Ascension. The top babyface team of the blue brand – after Heath Slater and Rhyno – The American Alpha picked up the win alongside The Hype Bros.

Result: American Alpha and The Hype Bros defeat The Vaudevillains and The Ascension

#5 Bray Wyatt vs. Kane

The ongoing battle between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton has taken a new turn with the introduction of Luke Harper and Kane in the scheme of things. While two weeks ago, Kane disappeared from ringside during a tag-team match, which allowed Bray Wyatt to nail Sister Abigail on The Viper for the win.

It was a different scenario last week when Kane appeared out of nowhere inside a casket when Wyatt and Harper were double-teaming against Orton. The Big Red Machine then helped The Viper to get rid of Bray and Luke.

However, during the live event it was Kane who took on Bray Wyatt and interestingly there was no interference by either Harper or Orton. The Big Red Machine did record the win over The Eater of Worlds – as he usually does on live events.

Result: Kane defeats Bray Wyatt

#6 Carmella and Natalya vs. Naomi and Emmalina

While Emmalina is yet to make her Raw debut following her name change, she did feature in a match alongside Naomi to take on Carmella and Natalya at the live event. Emmalina and Naomi were successful in overcoming the challenge by The Princess of Staten Island and Natalya.

Result: Naomi and Emmalina defeat Carmella and Natalya

#7 SmackDown Tag Team Championship: Heath Slater and Rhyno (c) vs. The Usos

After becoming the first-even SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Rhyno and Slater have become quite the formidable pair on the blue brand. The duo have successfully defended their titles on every occasion till now and it was the same case last night as they retained against the Heel team of The Usos.

Result: Heath Slater and Rhyno defeat The Usos

#8 SmackDown Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Alexa Bliss

Becky Lynch was expected to defend her title against Alexa Bliss at No Mercy but due to an injury, she was not medically cleared to compete at the Pay-Per-View. Two weeks later she finally made her in-ring return and the No Mercy match finally saw the light of the day. The Irish Lass Kicker successfully defended her title against Bliss and received a huge pop from the crowd.

Result: Becky Lynch defeats Alexa Bliss

#9 WWE World Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Dean Ambrose

After successfully defending his title against John Cena and Dean Ambrose at No Mercy in a triple-threat match, AJ Styles was seen feuding with world-renowned jobber James Ellsworth over the last two weeks. While Ellsworth recorded victories over The Phenomenal One in each of their last two encounters, he could not win the World Championship as the Title match he won was via disqualification.

Dean Ambrose played a pivotal role in the two victories for the jobber and it was announced last week only that The Lunatic Fringe will take on Styles on the blue brand this week.

However, in a prelude to the eventual match, it was Styles who retained over Ambrose once again. Is it a sign of things to come on Tuesday night or will WWE spring a surprise?

Result: AJ Styles defeats Dean Ambrose
