WWE/MMA News: Top UFC stars attend Elimination Chamber and one even calls out Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar may have some stiff competition coming for him soon

What's the story?

Brock Lesnar is the current WWE Universal Champion and will face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania this year, but the event which saw Reigns crowned as his challenger also saw some of Brock's ex UFC peers in the building.

There have been rumors of Lesnar returning to UFC after Dana White posted a photo last night of he and Lesnar together, but one UFC star took his chance to call out Brock on his own turf last night.

In case you didn't know...

Brock Lesnar returns to RAW tonight to go face to face with Roman Reigns, but there's been a lot of speculation that Brock's current WWE deal may not see him stay with the company too far past WrestleMania.

Brock Lesnar is currently serving a suspension, though, which means he is unable to return to the Octagon until at least September.

The heart of the matter

Well, with Elimination Chamber in Las Vegas and former UFC star Ronda Rousey officially signing her WWE contract, it isn't surprising that there were several other UFC stars in attendance - and one took to social media to take a shot at the Universal Champ.

Cain Velasquez holds a win over Brock Lesnar in UFC but threatened to "take another belt" from The Beast Incarnate.

Velasquez wasn't the only UFC fighter in attendance though, as you can see in a star-studded video posted by Ronda Rousey below featuring Daniel Cormier and Travis Browne among others.

What's next?

Well, there's always talk of MMA stars transitioning to pro wrestling and, in particular, WWE. Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey will both be appearing on tonight's RAW. Will we see any UFC stars in the crowd tonight? We won't need to wait too long to find out.

Author's take

I think it's pretty awesome to see stars of the MMA world enjoying WWE and interacting with the crowd. WWE can get a hard time from MMA fans due to the outcomes being pre-determined, so perhaps this may garner more respect from the UFC faithful when they realize that their idols are embracing WWE more and more often.
