WWE/MMA Rumours: Ronda Rousey returning to WWE programming in early 2017

“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey last appeared on WWE programming on Wrestlemania 31

Middleeasy.com are reporting that there are rumours heating up of Ronda Rousey wanting to work a program with the WWE in early 2017.

This won’t be long after UFC 207 which takes place on December 30th, 2016. WWE are reportedly very open to the idea of her coming in and are also looking to have her work a program with current Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte if she does.

Ronda coming into WWE early 2017 would be very dependent on her physical condition after UFC 207. It also depends on whether she wins or loses the fight. When she lost to Holly Holm, she kept a low profile for quite a while.

However, her not appearing at Wrestlemania 32 this year was more due to her conflicting schedule. During the time of Wrestlemania 32 she was busy filming a movie at Indonesia, so she was unavailable to appear at the grandest stage of them all.

It’s no secret that Ronda is a huge fan of the professional wrestling business. The “Rowdy” nickname she adopted is from the late great WWE Hall Of Famer Roddy Piper, who gave her his personal approval to use the nickname. She even dedicated her win against Beth Correia on UFC 190 to Roddy Piper who had recently passed away.

WWE has not hidden the fact that they want Ronda Rousey back in the Squared Circle. Stephanie McMahon, in an interview with TMZ after Hell In A Cell openly admitted that they would love to get in Ronda Rousey once she is done with MMA:

Rousey, by her own admission, has said that her upcoming UFC 207 bout against Amanda Nunes will be one of her last. She was quoted as saying this on the Ellen Show earlier this month (starts at 1:21):
