WWE Monday Night Raw preview: December 11, 2017

Three big matches on the road to Royal Rumble.

The next episode of WWE RAW is upon us as we slowly inch closer to the historic 1000th one, which will be telecast live from the Barclays Center and Manhattan Center in New York

The roster is coming on the back of their hugely successful India tour and the WWE creative team is slowly building up for the next of the Big 4, WWE Royal Rumble.

The Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio will host the red-brand for tonight's episode and here is the preview for what promises to be another breath-taking night.

#1 Is this the end of Kane?

Kane and Braun Strowman
Kane is slowly falling into... abyss

Kane had a rather volatile return to WWE, with the Big Red Machine destroying anything and everything that crossed his path. He got a couple over Strowman in the months since his return but it was The Monster Among Men who absolutely forced Kane into submission with his brute strength, endearing The Big Red Machine's body to a few explosive Running Powerslams.

Strowman's destruction of Elias was interrupted by Kane last week, when he appeared on the TitanTron and teased a confrontation between the two monsters for tonight. Kane had said, “Together, we will descend into the abyss. But only one monster will emerge.”

Indeed only one monster will emerge from this feud and we all know it won't be the Big Red Machine. The way the feud has been developing at a rushed pace in recent weeks, it feels the culmination is near, maybe even tonight.

WWE should ideally have saved the face-off for Royal Rumble, but I guess rumours of The Monster Among Men being a strong contender to win the 30-man elimination match may not have been just smoke without fire.

Whatever it is, the decision to make Kane look so week only a few weeks ago, and WWE's eagerness to push Strowman, all signals towards the end of the Big Red Machine.

It had to come, but like this and so soon?

#2 Absolution's next target

Absolution
Whose next?

Absolution have terrorized the RAW Women's division ever since their debut on the episode of the red-brand post Survivor Series.

Sasha Banks, Mickie James, Bayley have all been victims of the Paige-led clan. Not even the Women's Champion Alexa Bliss has been spared by the trio of Sonya Deville, Mandy Rose and the Anti-Diva.

However, the invincible Asuka has so far evaded the clutches of RAW's new heel stable, akin to what The Shield had done some five years ago on Survivor Series.

Asuka's streak has to end one day and it seems that WWE might be building Paige to do the honours when the time is right. Royal Rumble? WrestleMania? Be my guest!

#3 The Great War begins!

Matt Hardy
The "Woken" One

Matt Hardy was "woken" from his slumber only last week and he is already looking to DELETE a few worlds altogether. Calm down mate, take a deep breath.

Anyways, coming back to the point, Matt Hardy is looking to avenge his loss at the hands of “The Consumer of Terrestrial Entities,” which has finally "woken" his true self. The Great War has been teased to the WWE Universe by the former ECW Champion, as the "Woken" Matt Hardy looks to end the Buzzards.

Wyatt is a master of the mythical world and has consumed quite a few superstars in the recent past. However, is he prepared for the "Woken" one?

#4 Of The Bar, The Shield, and the other Samoan!

The Shield vs The Hounds of Justice
Who will prevail?

Samoa Joe interfered and cost Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose the chance to recapture the RAW Tag Team titles only last week, setting up three blockbuster encounters for tonight's episode.

The Hounds of Justice are taking on The Shield but in three different singles mathes. Roman Reigns will meet his match in the supremely athletic Cesaro, while Seth Rollins settles the score with Sheamus.

However, the showstopper has to be Dean Ambrose and Samoa Joe's first-ever singles encounter. The Destroyer will look to get one over The Lunatic Fringe on their first showdown.

The WWE Creative may be setting up a long feud between the Samoan Submission Machine and Ambrose. And how we wish this comes true!

Also, someone has to be there to keep The Shield in check, right?

When was the last time the WWE had two dominant factions side-by-side?

#5 Slow burn to a heel turn!

Jason Jordan
Can you smell what's cooking?

Jason Jordan's run as the babyface son of a top executive failed miserably. Jordan has been demanding a little too much from Kurt Angle in the last few weeks.

Only last week, the former American Alpha, first forced his father to set-up a title match with Roman Reigns for the Intercontinental Championship. Although he did lose the match but he gave a good account of his in-ring abilities.

However, following the match, Jordan tried to aide Reigns by suplexing Samoa Joe, when the latter had attacked the Champion but was greeted by a Superman Punch in return. Later, he demanded Angle for a match with the Samoan Submission Machine but was attacked by Joe in the middle of it.

Jordan has displayed slight heelish tendencies over the last few weeks and it won't be long before he is unhinged. When you ask, how about tonight?
