WWE Monday Night Raw preview: November 20, 2017

Triple H has much to answer for...
Triple H has much to answer for...

Survivor Series was as advertised. Bitterly contested, right till the very end.

There were unbelievable matches, victories shared back-and-forth, dissension within the ranks and finally, Raw edged out SmackDown Live right at the end.

But at what cost?

Triple H may have pinned Shane McMahon to end the Blue brand's spirited resistance, but he most certainly made an enemy out of Raw GM Kurt Angle and almost got choked to death by Braun Strowman for his troubles.

Was it all worth it?

Some within the Red brand would say so, namely the Shield, Brock Lesnar and the members of Team Raw who all emerged victorious in their respective pursuits.

But for those that ended up worse for wear, including Kurt Angle, what does the immediate future hold?

And why on earth did Triple H do what he did?

If you're as curious as we are to find out, read on as we preview this week's episode of Monday Night Raw.

#5) A guessing Game

"The Game" is probably the only man who knows why he prevented Kurt Angle from picking up the win for Raw, as Shane McMahon was on the verge of tapping out to the ankle lock already.

Which is why all ears will be strained towards the television set when Triple H takes to the microphone in an effort to explain his actions on Raw.

But the WWE Universe aren't the only ones demanding an explanation as Raw GM Kurt Angle, despite almost delivering on his promise of breaking Shane McMahon's ankle and taking home the victory for his team, was blindsided and attacked by the COO.

What will "The Game" have to say for himself on Raw?

More importantly, after also attacking Angle's son in front of him, does this signal the beginning of an all-out war between him and the Olympic hero?

#4) Nobody is ready for Asuka

Asuka proved just why she is such a force of nature
Asuka proved just why she is such a force of nature

Asuka proved to everyone just why she is undefeated in the WWE with a dominant performance en route to picking up the win for the Raw Women's Team in the 5 on 5 elimination match.

It was a reaffirmation of the notion that no Superstar on the SmackDown roster could hang with the "Empress of Tomorrow" when she's on the song.

But her next test will come from much closer to home, as she will cross swords with someone within Raw.

And after losing to Charlotte Flair, the Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss looks plenty ripe for the taking.

Will the indomitable Asuka target Championship gold next?

#3) Who next for Brock Lesnar?

It was extremely hard work...but Brock Lesnar eventually saw off the challenge of AJ Styles
It was extremely hard work...but Brock Lesnar eventually saw off the challenge of AJ Styles

Paul Heyman touted AJ Styles as the greatest performer of this generation but forcefully reminded him that he would be in a fight against Brock Lesnar.

AJ Styles, however, came prepared.

He weathered the initial onslaught from the Beast and gave it back as good as he got, focussing his attack on Lesnar's knee and hacking down the Beast's mobility, before trying to put him to rest using a barrage of forearms from hell.

However, Lesnar's size and strength proved a little too much to overcome in the end, as he caught a flying Styles in mid-air and nailed him with a match-ending F5 for the win.

It was the furthest Lesnar had ever been pushed in recent history...which will only give the denizens of Raw hope that now would be as good a time as any to attack him.

Will we see a new contender for the Raw Universal Championship emerge on Raw?

#2) One and done?

Will the members of the Shield go their separate ways after this?
Will the members of the Shield go their separate ways after this?

It took a Triple Powerbomb from the turnbuckle to put New Day away but the Shield eventually managed to claim the victory and cement themselves as the most dominant faction in WWE's recent history.

But as the New Day pointed out in the lead up to their fight, they will still be united come WrestleMania season. Can we say the same for the Shield?

In fact, after beating New Day and setting the tone for Raw's victory over SmackDown Live at Survivor Series, do the Shield even need to be together anymore?

It's a question that a lot of us would like to know the answer to.

#1) Changing of the guard?

Was the loss to Charlotte a sign of things to come?
Was the loss to Charlotte a sign of things to come?

After losing in gut-wrenching fashion to their counterparts, Miz, Alexa Bliss and the Bar have never been in a weaker position.

But with the vultures circling, they will have to dust themselves off and bounce back quickly lest their colleagues take advantage of their downswing in fortunes.

However with the likes of Asuka and the Shield circling, is it easier said than done to pretend Survivor Series didn't happen and funnel their unadulterated focus on defending their Championships?

Or do their defeats at Survivor Series signify the passing of the guard on Raw?
