WWE Money in the Bank: 3 reasons why Becky Lynch should lose the SmackDown Women's title at the PPV

As they say, with double the power comes double the troubles, Becky Lynch will now have to defend both her titles on the same night against two different opponents in two different matches.

She will defend her RAW Women's title versus Lacey Evans while her nemesis, Charlotte Flair, would try to regain the title that she never lost in a SmackDown Women's Championship match.

The odds are once again stacked against the Irish Lasskicker, and seeing her underwhelming run as Becky 2 Belts, the creative team may try to take one of the titles off Becky. Here are 3 reasons why the Creative team should consider booking a title change in the blue brand's match.

#3 Opens the door for a Charlotte Flair vs Bayley feud for the SmackDown Women's title

While the team of Sasha Banks and Bayley may no longer exist, one half of that team, Bayley, has impressed everyone with her performances on Tuesday nights. The Huggable One has had marvelous matches against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch and she will definitely be one of the leading candidates to win the Money in the Bank contract.

However, WWE should rather consider pushing Bayley without the Money in the Bank contract, as she has the potential to achieve greatness even without that contract. She was the first woman to defeat Flair in a singles match on pay-per-view, and also, she is a former RAW Women's Champion.

If WWE decides to involve Bayley in the title picture, then she needs a heel at the opposite end to have a memorable rivalry. Thus, if Becky drops her title to Flair at MITB, then WWE can definitely plan a feud between Flair and Bayley.

#2 Avoid the same storyline on both shows

Well, in the era of the brand split, a limitation the WWE Creative team faces is that they cannot have the same superstar hold titles on both brands. The reason why WWE implemented the brand extension was to give new storylines and better content to the audience. However, that goal cannot be achieved if they have a dual-branded champion.

Becky Lynch may be the most popular female superstar of the roster, but that does not mean she should hold all the gold on offer. This has not only hurt the overall WWE product but has also made Lynch look monotonous.

We have been witnessing the same type of storyline on RAW and SmackDown Live, and thus, it would only be better if Becky drops one of the titles. Amongst the two challengers, Charlotte seems to be the worthier contender, hence she should walk out as the SmackDown Women's Champion.

This will give WWE an opportunity to book unique Women's Championship feuds on both shows.

#1 Will make Becky Lynch exclusive to RAW

RAW needs Becky Lynch more than SmackDown Live
RAW needs Becky Lynch more than SmackDown Live

The only reason Becky is appearing on both RAW and SmackDown is that she holds the women's championships of both shows. If she loses one of her titles, then it will make Lynch exclusive to one brand. Having a closer look at the women's division of the two rosters, we will observe that RAW needs Becky Lynch more than SmackDown Live.

SmackDown has got the likes of Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Asuka, Carmella, Kairi Sane, Ember Moon, Lana, Liv Morgan, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, and Zelina Vega, while the red brand does not have the same depth.

The only possible names I could imagine in a RAW women's title feud are Alexa Bliss, Naomi, Natalya, and Ruby Riott. Thus, Becky Lynch should stay on RAW and bid adieu to SmackDown Live.

The best way WWE can book this is by having Becky lose her SmackDown women's championship as soon as possible.
