What's the story?

Ever since AJ Styles joined WWE, he's been a staple of the main roster. AJ spent a lot of time on the independent circuit before coming to WWE and it looks like he's not done popping up when people least expect him.

In case you didn't know...

AJ Styles was one of the best pro wrestlers on the planet to never have a big run in WWE. But all that changed when "The Phenomenal One" debuted as the #3 entry in the 2015 Royal Rumble.

Before coming to WWE, Styles was the face of TNA but also worked indie shows all over. He worked for several companies all over and always brought his incredible skillset to the table.

The heart of the matter

During an NWA Wildside Reunion show, AJ Styles made a surprise appearance. He had his WWE United States Championship in tow and the crowd was equal parts shocked and elated to see him.

Styles has not forgotten the Georgia-based promotion, where he started his amazing career. He actually started with National Championship Wrestling, but it would eventually merge with NWA Georgia to create NWA Wildside.

As you can see from the pictures below, his surprise appearance was a huge success.

What's next?

AJ Styles might not be holding that United States Championship for very long if Baron Corbin has anything to say about it. But even if he doesn't have a title around his waist, Styles will still be a huge name in pro wrestling and a hero to many.

Author's take

This just checked another box on the list to prove AJ Styles is not only a 'Phenomenal' entertainer but an awesome person. He didn't have to show up at a Georgia indie show with his WWE US Title, but he did and that choice made all the difference.
