The former NXT Champion finished up with NXT over the weekend.

What's the story?

Aleister Black made his main-roster debut last week on both Raw and SmackDown. Several news sites, including Wrestlingnews.co are reporting that the former NXT Champion said his goodbyes to NXT at a live event last night.

In case you didn't know

Black joined Ricochet, Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa as NXT superstars that debuted on Raw and SmackDown last week.

Fans weren't sure if the debuts were one-offs or short-term solutions as half of the superstars were still champions in NXT at the time of their debuts.

The heart of the matter

It appears that some of the questions might have been answered at last night's live event, at least when considering Black's status with NXT. He said farewell in the video below captured by Twitter user Brian the Guppie.

In the video, Black calls NXT a family and that he is proud to be a part of that family. He also said that NXT will always be his home regardless of what he does next.

WWE's website already listed the four NXT stars as members of the main roster. Black is scheduled to tag with Ricochet against Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura on this week's episode of SmackDown.

Since he is no longer a champion in NXT, it is easier for him to officially say his goodbyes to the yellow brand whereas Ciampa is still NXT Champion and Gargano might be challenging for one of the titles in NXT at TakeOver: Blacklist.

What's next?

Black will probably appear on the next few episodes of NXT due to the nature of taping blocks of episodes weeks in advance of airing.

But since he's wasn't tied to a belt any longer, his transition to being a permanent member of the main roster seems a lot clearer than for someone like Ciampa.

Although he certainly is deserving to take over the main roster, where does that leave the likes of someone like EC3 whose debut was hyped for weeks only for him to rarely appear on either show?

Whatever the case is, the main roster just got a lot more interesting with the arrival of Aleister Black as a main-roster fixture.
