What’s the story?

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks made history during the recent WWE tour by becoming the first women to wrestle in Abu Dhabi.

In case you didn’t know...

WWE started its three-day tour in Abu Dhabi which featured Finn Bálor taking on Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman versus Kane, The Shield taking on Samoa Joe, Cesaro & Sheamus and other matches.

The heart of the matter

Both women received special gear in preparation for their matches – Bliss’s attire was mostly black with dark colors riddled through the tights while Bank’s sported a Power Ranger-esque design of purple and white.

After the match, a tearful Banks was interviewed backstage and told fans that performing in front of the little girls in the audience “made everything worth it.”

Banks has been making her mark in WWE history since her NXT days when she and Bayley became the first women to main event an NXT Takeover Special. The Boss would also make history alongside Charlotte Flair and would be the first women to the main event Monday Night Raw, compete in a Hell in a Cell match and main event a pay-per-view.

Bliss also made history earlier this year at WrestleMania when she became the first woman in to defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the big show. She would lose the title at WrestleMania 33, but would go on to win the Raw Women’s Championship at Payback; becoming the first woman to have held the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships.

What’s next?

WWE’s tour of India continues Friday, Dec. 8 at the Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi and will feature Reigns taking on Triple H in a rematch from WrestleMania 32.

The tour will end Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi and will feature Triple H versus Jinder Mahal in the main event.
