Alexa Bliss has been in WWE since 2013, and she stayed in NXT for three years before being called up to the main roster.
She saw The Four Horsewomen get the spotlight over her, but she continued working and honing her own skills, and when the time was right, she finally got drafted to Smackdown Live. Now, she is in the main Women’s program with Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.
In an interview with The Whig, Alexa Bliss credited The Queen, The Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte for helping her out:
“I was there for the start of the women’s revolution with the Four Horsewomen and I just remember, [the] one person who always helped me out was Charlotte. My first day, she took me under her wing, showed me the ways.”
Bliss said that Charlotte would always get in the ring with her for extra time and practice, and now she is one of the biggest names in WWE, with main events and iconic, historic moments.
She even credited her rival Becky Lynch, even though she “hated to say it”:
“I was there when Becky first started, I was there on her first day already. I saw her evolve into what she is now, and when she left to go to the main roster with the other three women, I saw everything that she could do, but she hasn’t seen everything that I’ve learned since then."
She didn’t leave out The Hugger Bayley. She said that after Charlotte and Becky had left to go to the main roster, Bayley was still down at NXT, and she helped Bliss get to the next level because she had given her some of her best matches till date.
Bliss said that she is really excited to see where she measures up to Becky because she’s been pushed to the limit, has been training more and has learned more things, and that The Lass Kicker does not know what is coming.
Alexa Bliss is set to take on Becky Lynch for the Smackdown Women’s Championship in next week’s edition of Smackdown Live which takes place in Glasgow, Scotland. In this past episode of Smackdown Live, Alexa Bliss got a pinfall on Becky Lynch in a tag team match, where she teamed up with Carmella to face Becky and Nikki Bella.
The pin over Becky Lynch was likely done to make her look strong for next week’s championship match and make her seem like a great threat to Becky.
