What’s the story?

Current Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss was recently a guest on 96.9 The Fox with Jim Lambert where she discussed the progress of the women in WWE and the significance of the upcoming first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match.

In case you didn’t know…

Several weeks ago, one of the principal owners of the WWE, Stephanie McMahon announced that WWE is all set to host the first ever 30-women over the top rope women’s Royal Rumble match. Many top names such as the likes of Asuka, Sasha Banks, Mandy Rose, Ruby Riott, Sonya Deville and more have already announced their entry into the Royal Rumble match.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, WWE veterans Michelle McCool and Molly Holly are also apparently confirmed to make their return to the company during the women’s Royal Rumble match. Additionally, former WWE star Awesome Kong—formerly known as Kharma, has also revealed her interest to enter the women’s Royal Rumble match.

The heart of the matter

Alexa Bliss claimed that the Women’s Royal Rumble match is truly an amazing initiative and it is something she is totally excited for. Bliss believes that the women’s Royal Rumble match is the next step in the WWE women’s revolution and also feels that this match is definitely going down as one of the most historic moments in WWE history because of the inclusion of every woman on the roster.

“I think that the fact that Stephanie [McMahon] came out and announced that we're having the first-ever women's Royal Rumble, that's huge. That's never happened before, and I feel like this match is probably one of the most historic because every woman is involved, and that's what I love about it.”- Alexa Bliss stated during her interaction with Jim Lambert.

What’s next?

The Women’s Royal Rumble match is all set to take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, later this month. The Royal Rumble pay-per-view is already looking stacked with five title matches already announced for the show. The PPV will take place on 28th January 2018.
