What’s the story?

In a recent interview with Sporting News, Alexa Bliss opened up on a myriad of topics. Among other things, Bliss explained the differences she noticed from working on Raw between working on Smackdown Live.

Perhaps most notably, Bliss also stated that she feels indifferent to working on Christmas; apart from asserting that her friendship with Nia Jax helps her deals with the challenges of the professional wrestling business.

In case you didn’t know…

Alexa Bliss used to compete in the WWE’s NXT brand, but later got called up to SmackDown Live, where she won the blue brand’s Women’s Championship.

Bliss made her way to Monday Night RAW a few months ago, and is now the RAW Women’s Champion. On both brands, she has consistently been involved in the championship hunt - when she is not the champion herself - as a heel. Bliss has shown steady improvement in the ring and has gotten over well with WWE audiences on both Raw and Smackdown Live.

The heart of the matter

Alexa Bliss heaped a ton of praise on Nia Jax; explaining that she and Jax clicked right from the first time they met. It was harder when they were working on separate brands but, now that they are both on Raw, the duo hangs out together all the time. Their friendship has grown so close in real-life that they are even together when they aren't on the road.

As far as the going into detail about the differences between Raw and Smackdown, Bliss revealed:

“There's really not a big difference. I'd say the only big difference is when I first started on Raw, I noticed there is a different sense of urgency because Raw is deemed the flagship show. So there's always a little more urgency when it comes to Raw, but I do miss SmackDown a lot. The locker room is great.”

Furthermore, Bliss added that the blue brand’s Superstars are great to work with, and transitioning from SmackDown to RAW felt like being the new kid at school; gradually settling into the RAW locker room. Besides, on working for RAW’s live Christmas edition which falls on the festive day, Bliss continued that she doesn’t have an opinion on it, and feels that as a WWE Superstar who signed up for the job, she ought to be willing to show up to work irrespective of the day.

What’s next?

Alexa Bliss is presently avoiding the storm that is Absolution (Paige, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville) who’ve been attacking every female Superstar on the RAW roster since the formation of their new stable.

The next challenger for Bliss’ RAW Women’s Championship will be determined over the next few days.

Alexa Bliss is a thorough professional, and it’s great to see that she is hyped about RAW’s Christmas edition.

As for her opinion on the RAW and SmackDown distinction, it’s apparent at times that the red brand seems to operate at a frenetic pace, while SmackDown Live is always laidback and cool.
