What's the story?

Apollo seemed to have regained his surname on Monday Night Raw as his full name was spotted on his t-shirt and his WWE.com profile now lists him as Apollo Crews again. This means that the name change from WWE may have just been a temporary two-month thing.

In case you didn't know...

On February 19th, WWE changed Apollo Crews' name to just Apollo, dropping the surname. We exclusively revealed that this was because the WWE wanted to avoid any inadvertent and unfortunate association between Apollo Crews and Nicholas Cruz, the perpetrator of the mass shooting that had just taken place in Florida at the time.

The heart of the matter

Apollo, Titus O'Neil and Dana Brooke, who make up the stable Titus Worldwide, appeared on Monday Night Raw to interrupt Dolph Ziggler's speech on being drafted to Raw. Ziggler then announced he was there with Drew McIntyre and the pair attacked Titus Worldwide.

Viewers who were paying attention would have noticed that Apollo's t-shirt sported the Superstar's former full-name 'Apollo Crews' meaning that the WWE may have lifted the ban on using the surname. His profile page on WWE.com has also reinstated Crews as part of the name.

What's next?

It would seem that WWE are now okay with using the full name of Apollo Crews again, which could be because the news surrounding Nicholas Cruz has died down a bit and he's no longer getting mainstream news time.

Author's take

Hopefully, this means that the newly coined, and effortlessly catch new catchphrase for Apollo Crews 'Crews can't lose' will return and we'll see him rise up the ranks in singles or tag-team competition because of the mantra!

I do wonder if this is the start of something though. Will Cesaro suddenly become Antonio Cesaro? Will Big E regain his Langston? Will Rusev find out it's actually been Alexander Rusev day all along?
