What's the story?

Five women competed on Raw for the opportunity to wrestle Asuka at TLC and a surprising name came out on top. She proclaims she started the women's revolution and now Emma will be hoping to be the first woman in over 500 days to do the impossible, ie. beat Asuka.

In case you didn't know...

Asuka is one of the most dominant champions in WWE history holding the NXT women's title for almost 1 1/2 years before being called up to the main roster due to a kayfabe injury. She really did steamroll through everyone.

It was then announced that she'd be debuting for the Raw brand at WWE TLC 2017 but we didn't know who her opponent would be until now.

The heart of the matter

Sasha Banks, Dana Brooke, Bayley, Alicia Fox and Emma competed in an elimination match on Raw, after all stated their case for being the one to face Asuka to Raw General Manager Kurt Angle.

Brooke was first to be eliminated by Bayley, who was then swiftly eliminated by Fox. Sasha Banks then dominated the match eventually taking Fox out with a Backstabber into Bank Statement combo before Emma stole the victory with a rollup.

What's next?

It will be Emma Vs Asuka at TLC. This is a match that makes total sense as it gives Asuka someone expendable to decisively steamroll to mark her entrance to the main roster empathically.

I mean, they won't have Emma beat Asuka will they?

Author's Take

I fully expect Asuka's undefeated streak to continue following this match announcement. I think that's the right thing to do.
