Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista recently talked about his last WWE run in the MLW Radio’s Writers Room. Thanks to WrestlingInc, we have some insights about what the former WWE star thinks about his time in WWE back in 2014.

Batista said that his 6-month long WWE run was a struggle since the start. According to him, he wanted to return as a heel because he believed that the fans wanted him to be a heel. However he ended up being a babyface because Mr. McMahon thought people loved him and they will support him.

The former world champion also talked about how fans blamed him for CM Punk's infamous departure due to the fact that WWE shoved him down people's throat as a babyface too hard.

Although even after all this, Batista claimed that he stayed longer with the company than originally planned. He said that he was unsatisfied with his return due to fan backlash and wanted to make things right. He even claimed that he only left because the promotions of Guardians started.

At the end, he said that the only way he would ever return is that he gets to know what he is getting into and the officials present a clear plan in front of him.

It's notable that Batista made his WWE return back in January 2014 as a Babyface. He won the Royal Rumble match that year to earn the rights to face the then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton.

However, it resulted in a huge fan backlash due to the fact that fans wanted Daniel Bryan in the main event of WrestleMania. Realizing their mistake, WWE later turned him heel but it proved to be too little too late. Soon after that, Batista left the company once again without leaving any mark in WWE fan's mind.
