Who will Dave Batista face at WrestleMania 35?

What's the story?

Former WWE World Champion and fan favorite, Dave Batista hasn't wrestled in a WWE ring in almost five years, however, in a very recent tweet, 'The Animal' seemingly continued teasing a potential return to in-ring competition at some point down the line.

In case you didn't know...

Dave Batista last competed in a WWE ring way back in 2014 when he teamed up with his fellow Evolution stablemates Triple H and Randy Orton and faced-off against the menacing trio of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose- The Shield.

The Shield and Evolution had two exciting and intense matches with The Hounds of Justice coming out on top on both occasions and shortly afterward, 'The Animal' decided to quit WWE once again to creative differences with the company.

The heart of the matter

Dave Batista finally made his highly awaited WWE return with the rest of the Evolution faction on the 1000th episode of SmackDown Live, last year in October and on his first night back, the former World Champion teased a potential showdown against 'The King of Kings' Triple H at this year's WrestleMania 35.

The teasing continued when WWE wished Batista on his 50th birthday on Twitter, as 'The Animal' took it to his official Twitter handle and claimed that the WWE Universe "ain't seen nothing yet".

Below is Batista's tweet:

What's next?

It was previously noted that a showdown between former rivals and Evolution stablemates Triple H and Batista might take place at The Grandest Stage of Them All, that is, at WrestleMania 35.

However, with Triple H suffering a pectoral tear during his last televised WWE match at Crown Jewel, a bout against Dave Batista might just not take place, since it has been noted that 'The Game' will take at least 5-9 months in order to recover.

But, nonetheless, Batista could very well compete at WrestleMania 35 against a different opponent, maybe against a young, up and coming star?
