What’s the story?

Following a recent Twitter exchange between WWE superstar Becky Lynch and Hall of Famer Amy Dumas aka Lita, the two former Women’s Champions seemingly claimed that they are open to a match against each other at WrestleMania, teasing a potential future bout with each other.

In case you didn’t know…

Lita made her WWE debut in the year 2000, following a short stint with Paul Heyman’s promotion ECW. Upon her WWE debut, Lita was known for her tenure as a member of Team Extreme, along with Matt and Jeff Hardy. Lita is also a former four-time WWE Women’s Champion and her feud with Trish Stratus remains one of the most iconic female rivalries of all time in WWE history.

Lita was inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame in 2014, following a retirement in 2006. However, after her departure from the WWE, she did work for a few promotions on the Independent scene. Earlier in the year, Lita also made a surprise return to WWE as she entered the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble match.

The heart of the matter

Earlier in the week, former WWE Women’s Champion Lita decided to retweet a fan’s tweet who apparently claimed that Lita vs Becky Lynch has always been one of his biggest dream matches. Lita, who is usually known for her extreme in-ring style, claimed that she’s willing to square off against Becky Lynch in a potential TLC match at WrestleMania.

Shortly afterward, Lynch decided to respond to her idol’s tweet and additionally claimed that she is also interested in a dream match against Lita.

What’s next?

Being a former (and the first ever) SmackDown Live Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch has proved that she is indeed one of the best female competitors in WWE today and Lita, as we all know, is one of the greatest female wrestlers in WWE history.

A showdown between the two ladies at WrestleMania will be a treat to watch, however, chances are that the match will rather take place some time in the future, but not as early as WrestleMania 34.

Author’s take

I’m totally onboard for a match between Lita and Becky Lynch and I hope that WWE books it with perfection, so that we can see the two ladies collide at WrestleMania 35.
