WWE News: Becky Lynch reveals which Superstar would be her new tag partner
What's the story?
Following a rivalry spanning nine months, Lynch has now revealed which woman she would choose to team with instead of Flair if she decided to challenge for the Women’s Tag Team titles.
In case you didn't know…
Including the time they spent in NXT, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair won 15 of their 28 tag team matches together.
However, throughout their time as tag partners, WWE had yet to introduce the Women’s Tag Team titles, which are currently held by Billie Kay & Peyton Royce after they defeated Sasha Banks & Bayley in a Fatal 4-Way match at WrestleMania 35.
Lynch & Flair’s most recent 2-on-2 match on WWE television came in December 2018 when they defeated Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville at Tribute To The Troops, while they recently joined forces one week before ‘Mania with Ronda Rousey to defeat The Riott Squad in a six-woman tag match on Raw.
“The Man” has also teamed regularly with Naomi (seven wins in 17 matches) and Paige (two wins in nine matches) over the last few years.
The heart of the matter
Speaking to WFF - 100% CATCH during WWE’s European tour, Becky Lynch gave this response when she was asked who she could team up with next in WWE:
“If you asked me a year ago, I would’ve said Charlotte, but I don’t know. Things have gone way too sour at this stage. I guess you’ve gotta go with who you think you can trust the most, and I think it’s gotta be Naomi. Fire and Glow or something like that.”
Becky Lynch will defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Lacey Evans and the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view on May 19.
At the same event, Naomi will participate in the eight-woman Money In The Bank ladder match alongside Dana Brooke, Natalya, Nikki Cross, Bayley, Carmella, Ember Moon and Mandy Rose.
