WWE News: Becky Lynch to main-event WrestleMania 35
What's the story?
Becky Lynch might be the single hottest act on the WWE roster at the moment. She is the most popular figure on the current WWE roster with the fans. Now, it appears she is about to make history.
This week's episode of SmackDown Live saw Becky Lynch come out and make the announcement which could see a huge change in the first-ever Women's main event at WrestleMania 35.
In case you didn't know...
Since winning the SmackDown Women's Championship back in 2018, Becky Lynch has been the single-most popular act with the WWE Universe. The fans have united behind her in a way which has not been seen since the rise of Daniel Bryan, and CM Punk prior to that.
Lynch and Rousey have shared a contentious history, with Rousey being attacked by Becky Lynch before their actual match at Survivor Series. Their match was not fated to happen, however. A botched punch by Nia Jax saw Becky Lynch injured and pulled from the match.
As a result, it was up to Charlotte instead, and she had a vicious bout against Rousey at Survivor Series. Now, after winning the WWE Women's Royal Rumble match, it might finally be time for Rousey and Lynch to meet.
The heart of the matter
On this week's episode of SmackDown Live, Becky Lynch started the show with a promo. There she revealed that she had worked her way to the top of WWE and was going to be in the main event of WrestleMania.
Currently, Lynch might be suffering from an injury in kayfabe, following the Royal Rumble and an attack by Charlotte Flair on SmackDown Live, but she will do anything to reach WrestleMania 35.
This means that this WrestleMania 35 event will see history made when Becky Lynch will face Ronda Rousey at the main event of the historic show.
