What’s the story?

On a recent edition of Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Big Cass spoke about the difficulties he and his partner and WWE Superstar, Carmella, face being on different brands. He added that they’re with each other for just one-and-a-half days a week, and usually refrain from talking about wrestling with one another.

Additionally, Cass revealed that he models himself after The Undertaker and Kevin Nash, and also takes notes from the Big Show on how to carry himself in the ring.

Cass also spoke about his former FCW co-performer Jason Jordan and Jordan's success on RAW, asserting that he’s happy for Kurt Angle’s kayfabe son.

In case you didn’t know…

Big Cass, whose real name is William Morrissey, has performed for the WWE since 2011, and is now one of the promotion’s top big men.

The 31-year-old recently suffered an ACL injury and is currently rehabilitating.

The heart of the matter

Big Cass explained that he watches a lot of The Undertaker and Kevin Nash’s work, in efforts to improve his mat skills, besides taking notes from how the Big Show operates and carries himself.

Furthermore, Cass went on to praise Triple H, and also claimed that he often asks The Undertaker for words of wisdom the Deadman has to offer.

Besides, the 7-footer spoke about Carmella: "Oh yeah, we never see (each other). We see each other one-and-a-half days a week! I think we're the only couple on (WWE) TV that isn't on the same brand if I'm correct.

"We talk about everything but wrestling—we try not to talk about wrestling. It's just too much (and) yeah, we try to stay as far away from it as possible," said Big Cass.

What’s next?

Big Cass is presently recovering from a knee injury and is expected to return to the WWE, where he performs for the RAW brand.

Author’s take

Big Cass has all the makings of a star, and if he's booked well, there’s no stopping the giant from headlining Wrestlemanias in the near future.

His habit of taking notes from a select few big guy legends from the WWE is commendable, and will most definitely help him ascend to the top of the food chain in the WWE.
