The Beast is back

Former WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar made his surprise return to WWE TV on SmackDown Live this week, challenging Kofi Kingston to a WWE title match and assaulting the Champion after Kingston accepted the challenge.

Following the events which took place on SmackDown, WWE officially announced that Lesnar will indeed challenge Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship at SmackDown's premiere on FOX Sports taking place on October 4th.

WWE is yet to announce whether or not Champions will be eligible to move in the roster draft taking place on October 11th, but if Champions are eligible to move, then Brock Lesnar's future home brand remains in question.

Where will Brock Lesnar land?

Speculation has been that Brock Lesnar might be making the permanent move to SmackDown on FOX Sports in order to help the show debut with solid numbers and please network executives, but it appears as if Lesnar's future might not be set in stone according to a new advertisement from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.

According to a new arena website, Brock Lesnar will be appearing on what is being billed as the season premiere of WWE Raw taking place on September 30th.

The show is happening before the WWE roster draft, which means that the Wildcard Rule will still be in effect in WWE, making Brock Lesnar free to appear on both Raw and SmackDown Live.

Given Brock Lesnar's unique contract status with WWE, it is quite possible that he could compete in the WWE title match on SmackDown's FOX premiere, and even if he wins the title he could take time off television and make sporadic appearances as he has done in the past.
