What's the story?

In a few weeks, we'll crown new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. Six teams will battle for the right to hold the gold, and tonight, a fan favorite team earned their opportunity in the match.

In case you didn't know...

A few weeks ago on A Moment of Bliss, Alexa Bliss announced that the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles would be won in an Elimination Chamber match. The WWE had been teasing the titles for some time, basically since WWE Evolution, where it was rumored that new Women's Tag Champions would be crowned before the company even announced the titles.

On the Christmas Eve episode of Monday Night Raw, Vince McMahon announced that the titles would be reintroduced in the coming year.

Prior to tonight, we'd seen Nia Jax & Tamina, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, The Riott Squad, and The IIconics earn their way into the nightmarish structure throughout the weeks. Tonight, we added one more team to the mix.

The heart of the matter

On tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw, Sasha Banks and Bayley, known as the Boss'n'Hug Connection, faced off against the insane duo of Nikki Cross and Alicia Fox. Prior to the match, Cross and Fox assaulted Banks and Bayley, leaving them nearly unconscious as we went to commercial. However, when Raw came back, Bayley had Fox on the defensive.

The team of Raw Women's Champions would end up winning the match, advancing to the WWE Women's Tag Team Title Match!

What's next?

Elimination Chamber takes place on Sunday, February 17th. With only two weeks until the show, we're sure to get some great action between the six teams on the go-home show of both Raw and SmackDown.

Bayley and Sasha Banks are the odds on favorites right now, but it's not like the rest of the field is week by any means. The IIconics, Nia & Tamina, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, and The Riott Squad all are teams that could walk out of the Chamber with gold around their waists. And we still have one more team left to announce.
