What’s the story?

On the latest edition of The World According To Wrestling podcast, Brad Maddox revealed how he’d approach his work if given a second chance in WWE.

On that note, Maddox asserted that he’d be more upfront with Vince McMahon; communicate better with the WWE boss on his own accord rather than hoping that the writers will persuade Mr. McMahon in his favour.

In case you didn’t know…

Brad Maddox, whose real name is Tyler Warner, performed for the WWE from 2008-15; working primarily as an enhancement talent as well as a referee.

The 33-year-old was released from the WWE in 2015, owing to his usage of the phrase “cocky pri*ks” during a dark match for the WWE. Apparently, the management was unhappy with Maddox’s usage of the NSFW phrase, following which he was let go from the company.

The heart of the matter

Brad Maddox featured on The World According To Wrestling podcast, in the final episode of the series this week, alongside former WWE writer Court Bauer, Chavo Guerrero Jr., and Ryan Satin. The former WWE Superstar expounded on the topic of how he’d choose a different thoroughfare towards his job if given a second chance in WWE—

“If I had to do it again I would have gone to Vince from day one and said “Hi. I’m Brad Maddox. Do you know who I am? Do you know about my experience? Do you know I have been in your company for three years now and I’m a trained wrestler?”
“I would have communicated better and I would’ve taken my own career into my own hands instead of hoping or thinking that the writers were going to do my job for me.”

Furthermore, Maddox considerably underlined that he’d most definitely be more direct and frank as regards communication with Vince McMahon if given a second go-around with the WWE.

What’s next?

Brad Maddox presently performs on the independent professional wrestling circuit as Mad Braddox.

Bard Maddox has been through several ups and downs in his career.

Nevertheless, I do agree with his opinion regarding better workplace communication—something that’s proven to be key in any and every business. Would you like to see Maddox back in WWE? Sound off in the comments!
