WWE News: Braun Strowman comments on Brock Lesnar's stiff punch at The Royal Rumble

Is there some legitimate heat between Brock and Braun?
Is there some legitimate heat between Brock and Braun?

What's the story?

WWE Superstar Braun Strowman faced Brock Lesnar and Kane in a triple threat match for the Universal Championship at The Royal Rumble.

Lesnar may have retained his Championship in the match, but many of the WWE Universe were talking about the stiff punch that Lesnar landed on Braun after he seemingly kneed him in the head.

In case you didn't know...

Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar are the two biggest monsters in WWE right now and it was thought that there could have been a bit of tension between Strowman and Lesnar because the duo was basically fighting for the same position on Monday Night Raw.

Strowman is being pushed to the moon by WWE right now in the same way that Lesnar once was and many thought that jealousy could have been the reason behind this.

Of course, Lesnar's contract comes to an end following WrestleMania even though WWE want "The Beast" to resign it is still up in the air when it comes to his contract especially given the fact that the company want Lesnar to step into a feud with someone like Bobby Lashley.

The heart of the matter

There has been a lot of speculation circulating over the past few weeks but finally, The Daily Star raised the question to The Monster Among Men and he was able to give his side of the story.

“Any time Brock and I are in the ring it’s very physical. You’re talking about two larger-than-life human beings who are fighting for dominance. Stuff happens. It’s a contact sport – it’s not tennis. We’re not going out there to slap a ball around, we’re going out there to beat each other up. That’s what we did.”

It seems that despite the speculation that is laid out above there aren't any issues between the duo, especially since they could be working together again in the near future if Brock resigns.

What's next?

Strowman has already qualified for the Elimination Chamber match in just over two weeks time and the winner of the match will go on to face Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania so it is feasible that the duo could meet again in the near future.

Author's take

Strowman is a professional, he's not going to throw any heat at Lesnar in a public setting because he knows the pull that Brock has in the company. It is obvious that Braun annoyed Brock as part of the match and was told to slow down, but it seems that Strowman was put in his place and he has learnt his lesson.
