WWE News: Braun Strowman fired & rehired on Monday Night Raw

The Monster Among Men

The Monster Among Men

What’s the Story?

In what has perplexed the WWE Universe, Braun Strowman was fired by Raw General Manager Kurt Angle at the start tonight's Raw only to be rehired by Stephanie McMahon later on in the night after going on a devastating rampage.

In case you didn’t know...

Strowman attacked Brock Lesnar and Kane on last week’s episode of Raw and used a grappling hook to pull down a lightning truss onto both men.

The truss falling on them would prevent both men from appearing on this week’s show and resulted in Lesnar being carted to an ambulance and sent to a local medical facility.

The heart of the matter

Angle and Strowman started the show discussing his actions last week, but the Monster Among Men continually said that he would do as he wished.

This led to Angle taking Strowman out of the triple threat match between himself, Lesnar, and Kane at the Royal Rumble, firing Strowman, and having him escorted out of the building.

However, Strowman would turn around just before exiting the venue and wreak havoc on every security escort in his path by throwing them into walls, tables, and other nearby structures.

Strowman would continue to destroy various places and rooms of importance including Angle’s office, the catering area, and even attempted to destroy the production trucks.

After tipping over the tractor unit that carts the production truck around, Strowman made his way back to the stage and was prepared to throw Michael Cole as far as he could throw him.

However, Angle would inform Strowman that Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon rehired him and placed him back in the Universal Championship match at the Royal Rumble.

Strowman would begin to exit the stage but ended up tossing Cole into a sea of WWE security escorts – resulting in Cole being absent from WWE commentary for the remainder of the show.

What’s next?

This segment may have seemed pointless on the surface, but Strowman’s dominance was on clear display and may be a factor that increases interest in their upcoming triple threat match.

Author’s take

The Monster Among Men is unrivaled in his displays of strength. Hopefully, we see something equally as interesting at the Royal Rumble.
