WWE News: Braun Strowman's surprising WrestleMania match announced

One man wrecking machine!
The one-man wrecking machine is headed to WrestleMania

What's the story?

In an unprecedented scene of events that transpired on Raw, Braun Strowman entered the Tag Team Battle Royal to determine the #1 contenders for the Raw Tag Team Championship without a partner and was the last man standing.

As things stand, the Monster Among Men will go to WrestleMania 34 and challenge the Bar for the tag team straps of the red brand.

In case you didn't know...

In the build-up to this week's episode of Raw, The Bar called for the tag teams to step up and give them a run for their money. For all their troubles, the champions were ambushed on Raw on by entire tag team division and were left scampering for dear life.

Sheamus and Cesaro took their frustrations to Kurt Angle and threatened to leave for SmackDown. They weren't ready to wait until the Superstar shake-up scheduled to take place after WrestleMania and wanted a switch immediately.

The Raw General Manager calmed the duo down and booked a Tag Team Battle Royal featuring all the tag teams of Raw in the main event.

The heart of the matter

Sadly for all the teams involved, the Monster Among Men men was an unwelcomed guest in the main event of the evening as Strowman marched down the ring even before the match began.

He screamed at the referee to call for the bell and the official had to option but to oblige. Stowman went on to bury the entire division, eliminating Karl Anderson in the end to book his spot at WrestleMania.

A perplexed Bar looked on from the commentary booth as Strowman pointed to his waist and then followed tradition by pointing towards the WrestleMania sign.

What's next?

As mentioned by Michael Cole in the closing stages of Raw, Angle will address the issue soon and give us a clarity of the potentially monumental match for the show of shows.

Whether Strowman is forced to get a partner or he goes on to take on the 4-time champions all by himself is yet to be seen. Considering the monstrous booking Strowman's been afforded in the past year, it's highly likely that the WWE makes Stroman go over the bar without any assistance. The man can flip a truck for god's sake!

The last known instance of a single man holding onto to the tag team titles happened in TNA back in 2010 when "The Blue Print" Matt Morgan was the sole TNA World Tag Team Champion. The towering giant walked around with both belt, however, it should be noted that he won the title with a partner and was forced to have a sole run with the championship after his partner suffered an injury.

Strowman becoming the first ever sole Tag Team Champion in the WWE is historic in every sense of the word.

Author's take

Strowman deserves to have his Mania moment with a title win but who would have thought it would come in this fashion?

The reason why WWE may have put Strowman in such a rare situation is that there's nothing else he can be slotted into at the moment. As reported by Dave Meltzer, Strowman was the backup plan for the Universal and IC title matches but with those bouts now secured, Strowman is free to carve his own path and the interesting tag team expedition for the most over star on Raw maintains of being a one-of-a-kind attraction.

Do you think Strowman will be forced to get a partner? If so, who would you like to see him tag with?
