Looking back at WrestleMania 34, the apparent plan for Roman Reigns was to finally overcome ‘The Beast’ Brock Lesnar at ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’, given the fact that Lesnar was apparently on his way out of the WWE and jumping ship to the UFC instead.

However, shortly after the culmination of WrestleMania 34, it was reported that Lesnar had signed a new deal with the WWE and has instead decided to extend his stay with the Sports Entertainment Company and furthermore, the WWE also announced a Universal Title rematch between Lesnar and Reigns at The Greatest Royal Rumble.

Earlier today, Reigns and Lesnar once again went toe-to-toe with each other, this time inside a grueling Steel Cage and as expected, ‘The Beast Incarnate’ dominated ‘The Big Dog’ right from the get-go, but despite hitting Reigns with numerous German Suplexes and F-5’s a resilient Roman Reigns did not back down and continued to put up a fight.

Reigns slowly and steadily made a comeback into the match with a couple of finishing maneuvers of his own and as noted, in the closing stages of the contest, Roman Reigns—much to everyone’s surprise— speared ‘The Beast’ Brock Lesnar through the side of the Steel Cage as both men went flying to the outside.

Both Reigns and Lesnar apparently landed on the floor at the same time, as officials took a good look at the replays and eventually announced Lesnar as the winner of the match, as ‘The Beast’ retained his Universal Championship once again.
