WWE News: Brock Lesnar vs Kane set before Royal Rumble

<p>
This match will be a good one!

What's the story?

The Royal Rumble is set to have a pretty outstanding main event match when Brock Lesnar defends his WWE Universal Title against Braun Strowman and Kane. But it looks like fans in Baltimore are going to get a taste of that fantastic main event a little early when they get to witness Kane vs Brock Lesnar's first meeting in the ring.

In case you didn't know...

Both Kane and Brock Lesnar have shoo-in Hall Of Fame careers but their paths have yet to cross in the ring. This match is not only being promoted as a huge encounter but it is also being billed as the first meeting of these two sports entertainment celebrities.

The heart of the matter

The tour was promoting a reunion of The Shield as the top draw but since Dean Ambrose needed to be pulled from the event Brock Lesnar got the call and will be filling in.

This is just another way a big injury can make everyone change things up. Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins will be defending their newly won Raw Tag Team Titles against The Bar at the show and Roman Reigns will be defending his Intercontinental Title against Samoa Joe. All of these matches would probably have been different if Dean Ambrose was still medically cleared to compete.

What's next?

Brock Lesnar and Kane have never met before in a one-on-one setting but it will finally happen in Baltimore with the Universal Championship on the line.

Author's take

The crowd in Baltimore is going to get an amazing show when Brock Lesnar defends his Universal Championship against Kane. This is yet another reason why it would be excellent if WWE Network aired some of these bigger house shows on the WWE Network.
