WWE News: Brooke Hogan defends her dad Hulk Hogan after recent controversy

Hulk & Brooke Hogan worked together in pro wrestling for TNA in 2012 and 2013...

What's the story?

FemaleFirst.co in the United Kingdom ran a story recently about Brooke Hogan and her thoughts on her father Hulk Hogan after Gawker released the infamous tapes where Hogan was secretly recorded using racial slurs. Brooke defended Hulk and insisted that positive things happened to him after this incident.

In case you didn't know...

After the Gawker leaks of the sex tape from 2007, the WWE fired Hulk Hogan. At the time, Hogan was a judge on the last edition of Tough Enough. The WWE replaced him with The Miz to finish out the season.

The heart of the matter

In the aftermath of the incident and lawsuit against Gawker, Brooke hopes that everyone forgives Hulk as "everyone messes up" and people "shouldn't pass judgement on one another."

In an interview with People Magazine that Female First provided the transcript for, Brooke goes into further detail on how she has forgiven her father and everyone else should do the same. Take a look at that quote below:

"He is definitely a strong individual. I'm telling you if I had to go through what he went through, you know, I would probably be broken. You know, I told him, people aren't stupid, they have a gut instinct of who people are and you're a great dad and everybody messes up.
I always say don't judge anyone for saying differently than you do. But you know I think, bad things lead to good things. Even though it was a bad time for him, it led to something positive that protects other things."

Even though WWE removed all mentions of Hogan from promotional items and their website at the time, they have slowly brought those images and mentions over the past few months prompting those to speculate that he'll be brought back to the company sometime soon.

What's next?

It is unknown what is next for The Hulkster, but last week on Twitter he was teasing something big was about to happen. Take a look at his tweet below:

Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for any further developments on the next stage of Hogan's career.

Author's take...

People make mistakes, none of us is perfect, so I don't think it's much of a stretch for Brooke to ask people for forgiveness to Hulk for something that happened 10 years ago. Hogan was clearly remorseful about a situation where he was secretly filmed.

I definitely hope he returns to the WWE sometime down the road as time does heal all wounds.
