WWE News: Cesaro comments on teaming up with Sheamus
What’s the story?
In a recent interview with The National’s Graham Caygill, current WWE Raw Tag Team Champion and one half of The Bar, Cesaro gave an insight regarding his partnership with Sheamus and what is it like to team up with “The Celtic Warrior” in the WWE.
In case you didn’t know…
Following a best of seven series between Cesaro and Sheamus, in 2016, then Raw General Manager Mick Foley decided to team up both these men and form the newest tag team in the WWE, collectively known as The Bar.
Ever since their formation, the duo of Cesaro and Sheamus has been on a tremendous role in WWE. At last year’s Roadblock: End of the Line PPV; The Bar defeated the New Day and won their first tag team titles and also ended the New Day’s record 483-day reign in the process.
Following Wrestlemania 33, Cesaro and Sheamus turned heel by attacking the Hardy Boys and at this year’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view, the duo defeated Matt & Jeff to become a two time Raw Tag Team Champions.
They are currently in their third reign as the tag champions of the red brand, following their victory over Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose on last week’s episode of Raw.
The heart of the matter
During the interview, Cesaro said that his and Sheamus’ partnership has been a lot of fun and might possibly be the best part of his (Cesaro’s) WWE career so far.
“The Swiss Superman” added that he and Sheamus knew each other for a while prior to their tag team formation, but, despite that the duo started working really well with each other, as soon as they started teaming up on-screen.
The former United States Champion ended his statement saying that the best part about the duo is that the WWE Universe got to see their whole journey on screen and are now able to witness how much fun they are having on TV.
“We have become really good friends over time and by now are best of friends. As you can see, now we are having an absolute blast.”
Both Cesaro and Sheamus are currently in their third reign as Raw Tag Team Champions and on November 19th they will collide in a dream match against Smackdown’s top team and tag champions of the blue brand, The Usos, at the Survivor Series PPV.
In my opinion, the teaming up Cesaro with Sheamus was the best possible move WWE had made in a while. Prior to this tag team formation, both the Irishman and the Swiss superstar were lacking direction and were stuck in the mid-card of the company. However, it is amazing to see how well the duo has clicked ever since they started working together.
