What's the story?

Charlotte gave an interview to TMZ Sports which turned awkward the moment she was asked about the MMA Women's Star, Ronda Rousey.

In case you didn't know....

Ronda Rousey first appeared in WWE at Wrestlemania 31, where she and the Rock confronted Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. She hip-tossed Triple H out of the ring, and when Stephanie went to slap her, blocked it and teased an armbar, before finally throwing her out of the ring.

Recently during the Mae Young Classic tournament, which was a tournament with 32 women contestants, she made an appearance supporting Shayna Baszler, one of the MMA Four Horsewomen. She also had a confrontation with three of the WWE Four Horsewomen backstage.

The heart of the matter

During the interview, when Charlotte was asked about Ronda Rousey she simply replied,

"She knows where to find me."

She also went on to say that Ric Flair was a huge fan of Ronda Rousey and implied that he did not mind her taking the "Four Horsewomen" group name. When asked what she felt about it she paused for a while before going on to say that she looked at it from a positive perspective, and her addition to the Women's Division is good for WWE.

Finally, when asked about how she felt about going head to head with the UFC Badass she said,

"WWE is a much different product and it's the Sports Entertainment World."

Charlotte did not deny what all the fans know by now, that WWE is most probably working on bringing Ronda Rousey to the wrestling industry, and also implied that since WWE and MMA are two completely different sports she might have an advantage over the former UFC Bantamweight Champion.

What's next?

While Ronda Rousey is yet to be signed by WWE, Charlotte has more things to preoccupy her mind at the moment. Having won in the Fatal Fourway match on Smackdown, Charlotte is now the #1 Contender for the Women's Championship and will face the Smackdown Women's Champion, Natalya, at Hell in a Cell.

Author's take

The interview was incredibly awkward as Charlotte was obviously not at all in a mood to talk about Ronda Rousey. Given that, what she said about WWE being a completely different industry rings true, and if Ronda makes the jump to WWE it will be interesting to see how she adjusts to the new environment.
