WWE News: Charlotte Flair expected to be in Smackdown Women's Title picture for the rest of 2017
Fans could certainly expect "The Queen" to challenge for the Smackdown Women's Title once again.
What’s the story?
Smackdown Live superstar Charlotte Flair is currently in an on-going feud with Natalya over the Smackdown Live Women’s Title. The two ladies faced off in a match earlier this month at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, which saw Nattie retain her title via disqualification.
However, according to Cageside Seats, a rumour suggests that Charlotte is expected to be in the Smackdown Women’s Title picture for the rest of the year despite suffering a loss at the HIAC PPV.
In case you didn’t know…
In the month of September, Charlotte competed in a fatal four-way match on Smackdown Live against Becky Lynch, Naomi, and Tamina. Charlotte managed to outlast all the three ladies and won the contest to become the #1 contender to Natalya’s SD Live Women’s Title. Charlotte would then faceoff against Nattie for the Smackdown Women's title last month in Detroit.
The heart of the matter
According to a report suggested by Cageside Seats, it seems like WWE is planning to keep Charlotte Flair in the title picture for the rest of the year. The former Raw Women's Champion has already once managed to beat Nattie, at HIAC via disqualification but was not able to get her hands on the title.
WWE is yet to officially announce Natalya’s next opponent but the likely choice would be for Charlotte to get another shot at the title, this time at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view in November.
It has still not been confirmed if Charlotte will get a second opportunity at the Smackdown Women’s Title but it seems like the former Raw Women’s champion will challenge for the belt once again.
However, we are still not sure if WWE will give Charlotte a direct rematch or pitch her in a #1 contender match yet again, and have her win that in order to build herself as a credible challenger.
Personally, I think Natalya deserves a strong and formidable run as the Women’s champion of the blue brand. But, on the other hand, I would also like to see Charlotte win the Women’s Title once again.
In my opinion, the best decision would be for Nattie to defend and retain her title at Survivor Series and then Charlotte eventually should eventually win the belt in the last pay-per-view of the year which is Clash of Champions in December.
