WWE News: Charlotte Flair reveals backstage falling out with Sasha Banks
What's the story?
Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks are two of the four Horsewomen in WWE. But in Charlotte and Ric Flair's new book, "Second Nature" she revealed how she and The Boss had a falling out while in NXT which seemed to stem out of jealousy and it's not clear if fences were ever mended.
In case you didn't know...
The NXT Women's Division once housed practically every popular woman on WWE's main roster during their developmental days.
Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks got to be pretty close while at the WWE Performance Center but when Flair got an opportunity Banks wanted it might have taken a huge toll on their friendship.
The heart of the matter
Within the pages of Charlotte and Ric Flair's new book, "Second Nature" she tells a story about how Sasha Banks and she experienced a considerable strain on their friendship. This came after Charlotte was awarded a match for the NXT Women's Title against Natalya at NXT TakeOver which left Banks out of the big match.
After the seeds of discontent were planted, Sasha Banks would mention things about Charlotte in her promos without bringing it up to Charlotte Flair beforehand. Flair said some of Banks' actions were quite petty and not appreciated such as altering Charlotte's shirts to make them her own.
Banks called Flair's legendary father a "pathetic old man" in promos and things got very intense between the two leading up to their match at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution.
Charlotte Flair praises Sasha Banks in her book for being a great worker, but there was no indication they had made amends. There was also a tone written in the book while discussing Sasha which could be translated as a bit resentful as well.
Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair might be on different brands but they're rumored to be teaming back up in some fashion to face Ronda Rousey and her Horsewomen in the near future.
Hopefully, if there was any real backstage heat between Banks and Flair time has healed all wounds at this point. But there was a time when it didn't look too friendly between the two.
During that time in NXT Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks were palling around a lot. On Sam Roberts' Wrestling Podcast Sasha Banks discussed how she and Lynch were best friends at the time of her call-up to the main roster and not Charlotte. Therefore there could be some truth to the matter of legit heat between The Queen and The Boss.
