Charlotte Flair wants her match against Ronda Rousey to mean something

What's the story?

There have been rumors for quite some time saying Ronda Rousey is on her way to WWE. Charlotte Flair and her Horsewomen recently got face to face with Ronda Rousey and her friends outside the Mae Young Classic leaving some to assume a match is on the way.

If there is a plan for Flair vs Rousey, Charlotte Flair wants it to be a big one because she recently told ESPN she hopes it will main event WrestleMania.

In case you didn't know...

The second generation daughter of Ric Flair has been looked at as a big deal for quite some time. She very well could find herself as the face of WWE's Women's Division.

Therefore when a big name like Ronda Rousey is rumored to come into WWE people naturally place The Nature Girl against Rowdy Ronda in dream match scenarios. As it turns out this dream might soon become a reality.

The heart of the matter

Charlotte Flair recently spoke to ESPN where she addressed her hopes for a match against Ronda Rousey. She said it was her dream to face Rousey at WrestleMania and main event the show.

Flair said it would be a huge honor for her to represent the female talent on the roster in that regard. She also gave Rousey props for wanting to be a part of the wrestling business.

"I hope that's the main event of WrestleMania. That's my dream. I hope we can make it happen. She really opened the doors for a lot of women. Having that opportunity would be huge. I don't know what her goals are, but it's just cool that she wants to be a part of our world."

What's next?

Ronda Rousey and WWE seem to have something in store for us. Rousey has been training with The Brian Kendrick and started taking bumps in the ring a while ago. The rest of her Horsewomen might be gearing up for something too.

With Bayley back from her recent injury it means a Four Horsewomen vs WWE Horsewomen match could be down the line. But Charlotte wants a one-on-one encounter.

Dave Meltzer said in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter the plans are for Rousey to either face Charlotte Flair or Stephanie McMahon at Mania after they do something at Survivor Series. So it might be very plausible for Flair to get a marquee match against Rousey at The Show Of Shows.

Author's take

Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair could be a very entertaining match. With Ronda Rousey's work ethic and how she continues to tackle every challenge in front of her, she might be game for anything.

Charlotte Flair's ability to work with anyone in the ring will also help the situation a lot as well. So don't be surprised if WWE books this match for the Grandaddy Of Them All in New Orleans.
